Meanwhile, Gateway continues to crumble. All of that wasted money would have been better spent at an existing shopping center, rather than bulldozing trees and endangering wetlands.

Yes, Gateway is smack in the middle of the 'hood (so is Town N Country, now), and if you're looking for smack you can find it near Gateway. But investing there seems to make more sense than perpetuating urban sprawl with this new strip mall.

Well Town and Country never really was much of anything to begin with, IMO anyways.

I really wish they would have built another Costco, instead of BJ's.

do what I did...join BJ's instead!

You have to be a member to dine at BJ's Brewhouse?

I thought there was an Outback on the service road by the airport close to RCMP already. I guess they're closing that one and moving it into the hub proper?

Longhorns is near the airport. On a side note the Foot Locker at the RCMP closed. I found that a little odd.

I respectfully disagree. Back in the day (and Im showing my age here) Town N Country had a movie theatre, A Winn Dixie, Pic N Save, Waltz Restaurant & catering, Pantry Pride, Utsey's Shoes, French Novelty Country Shop, Stand N Snack, and several other niche specialty stores.

True, it wasnt a major destination, but it did have quite a few nice stores & restaurants. The same can be said about Gateway.

I just dont see it on the scale Gateway because I guess Im thinking Gateway is larger. As you said I was thinking "major desintation". But arlington has a long way to as far as a neighborhood before it can be referred to to as the "hood". It has its rough patches, but its by no means the northside. (norwood)

^^ Yes, you're right. Gateway is larger, and was once a regional shopping center/mall. It had several major retailers, while Town N Country only had "secondary" retail.

As for Arlington not being another Norwood, its getting closer and closer every day.  :'(

No, these are two totally different companies. BJ's Wholesale Club is the place to join, and the unrelated BJ's Restaurant & Brewery is a casual restaurant & microbrewery. I'm not sure if you were being sarcastic, but I was actually confused, and had to clear it up for myself LOL.
