QuoteI debated on whether or not to post this but here it goes: A woman was brutally attacked last Friday near Five Points around 8:30 by 3 men in a car (she was on her bike). The nature of the attack was completely random and it happened in our backyard! Please be EXTRA careful while walking to your cars at night. Also, if you have any information or questions please contact the JSO

Asia

This is awful and terrifying. I hope they catch these monsters.

And appropriately punish them.

In the meantime, girls need to be extra careful in the area.

Everyone should be careful.

Ugh, what an awful frightening story.  Thank you for reminding me to re-ignite my street smarts.  It sucks, but you really do have to watch your back. My heart goes out to that woman...  :(

This is an unfortunate example of why it is NOT safe for Women to be out at that hour by themselves. I feel just horrible after reading everything that happened to her, and I hope the suspects are found and thrown behind bars where they belong. Preferably a tight cell with Men who don't take kindly to a Man, let alone 3 Men, laying even so much as a finger on a Lady.

I make it my responsibility to lend a safe walk to any female associates at my workplace, including customers, when it is dark out. I urge everyone to please use caution and street smarts when out and about on the streets. Are you going to do a little late night grocery shopping? Bring a friend with you, and please protect yourself.

Yeahhhhh, I'm just going to be thankful for our crackheads in Springfield, no one's been beaten with bricks and raped or been followed home from a bar and had their eyes cut out of their sockets over here.

vicupstate

Rape can occur in the DAYTIME too.  Caution isn't jsut for night time.

Just like Asia said EVERYONE NEEDS TO WATCH OUT :(

Did this make any of the local news? This is the first I have heard of this.

didn't a woman get raped by a few guys a couple weeks ago in Riverside as well? or is this the same one....sounds like the same one, just different details.

mtraininjax

Ofc Cullen is well, not the greatest with details. I had a run-in with him. I hope he can do a better job with this case, than with mine, so does the State Attorney. A judge's case was overturned in State Court because of his slopiness.

Heart goes out to the woman and her family. No one deserves that behavior.

the woman I'm talking about was under the influnce of drugs when she was victimized.....wonder if it's the same one....

It's frightening that an attack like this was carried out in the busiest part of the neighborhood during a busy night & time.

How can anyone be more careful when they're hit by a car while riding their bike and attacked before they even know whats happening.

Yeah, a gun would be a good deterrant. Just the threat of having one, should, should be enough to push a thug onto another target.
