For the last couple of months, a bunch of peeps from Springfield have been showing up at Shantytown Pub on thursdays to share a pint (or two) with good friends and neighbors. Sometimes its two or three of us, sometimes its 5 or 10 of us. Its always a fun time, with lots of interesting scuttlebutt.

Starting next Thursday, Shanty is going to let us turn its back patio in to Springfields liberty tree.

We are going to get a box, hopefully of the soap variety, and anyone who has something important to say about Springfield can get up on the box for several minutes, and say their peace about whatever is on their mind (Keep the national partisan crap away. Just local stuff!)

So please, even if you dont have a lot to say, come out and hear what is being said, and share a pint with your neighbors, and lets try to remember why we all love this neighborhood and have some fun doing it. A few of us will have a few minutes of prepared rabble rousing prepared to get the ball rolling!

John@shanty even suggested he might be able to get a drink special set up, which is pretty freaking cool.

Thoughts? Feedback?

I think a lot of us get our rabble rousing about Springfield out on this forum. Now if we can just figure out a way to dispense beer through a web browser.

Sounds like an interesting idea. What times do you guys meet at Shanty's?

I think all of our Log in time would skyrocket if you could manage this. I already spend enough time on here at work.

We are usually there around 9ish.

The idea may, or may not work, but it could be a lot of fun if it does. Last night we were talking about things around the neighborhood, and one of the guys said "you know what would be really cool..." and the plan was hatched.

I say plan loosely of course.. :-D
