Actually, Ock, I think you missed the one category where Krystal does claim top prize.  LATE NIGHT!!  After FL/GA every year for about half a decade my friends and I get about 6 sackfuls and recount the Gator victory.  Ohhh Memories.....
I thought that was what Waffle House was for.

I believe the category is, "Krystals, where the south sobers up."

Krystal is why I beg for In and Out to come to the East Coast... oi. Sonic > Krystal anyday!

Anyone in the Mandarin area should give this little hole-in-the-wall place a try. Sushi House, across the street from ACE by the Uhaul building, is a really great and they're very friendly. It's jsut a little family joint but they got out of their way to make sure you have a good meal.

Also, right beside it is Santioni's, the absolute best Italian place I've ever eaten at down here.

Krystal and In and Out are different beasts. Krystal sates a more bestial thirst. You go to a place like 5 Guys or I&O because you want a good burger. You go to Krystal because you absolutely have to. There's no debate, no discussion and no emotion. When it's Krystal Time, you put no more thought into devouring a sackful as a wolf would contemplate devouring sheep. Would one sell their soul and set this world ablaze for a mere burger? I think not. But god help you if you get between that steamed goodness and someone who needs it.

Now if you don't mind, I need my fix.

I probably won't eat at an in-n-out anymore for the same reasons I don't eat at chick-fil-a.  Here's why.

heh, that reminds me of a David Cross bit where he gets a bible verse with his sandwich while flying Alaska Airlines.

"Wait a minute.... I don't remember ordering the Christian sandwich. No...I didn't because if I had they definitely would've offered me the Buddhist pasta ...."

Dog Walker

Ate at Fu Hao Bisto in 5 Points tonight; wonderful food absolutely incredible presentation.  Carved vegetable flowers and vase surrounded by carved chain from carrot. This is the sort of place you would pay twice the price for in Atlanta, Washington or New York.

Highly recommended!
When all else fails hug the dog.

I never make it out to the beaches anymore but there used to be a place out there, I think it was called Cruisers, that had the best burger in Jacksonville.

Cruisers just opened a location for us townies, it's in the Lakewood plaza facing Hendricks, just north of University Blvd.

In Lakewood, Pizza Italian's Lasagna is very good (the sauce, or "gravy" if you know some real New York Italians!) is to die for.    Sorry to say the bread and salad were horrible, but go anyway, for the rest of the meal.  Cute little family restaurant.

It's been a long time since the last time I visited Sarah Lee's Bakery. The taste of their bread is good and how they entertain their customers are charming. Breads are the safest foods to eat whenever I am traveling. If your stomach is not that keen to try local delicacies, I am sure there is something in their bakery that will satisfy your hunger. So far, since moving here, I've tried a few places.  I really like the Cool Moose Cafe, Blue Bamboo, and La Nopalera (love the happy hour).  I tried Steak n Shake for the first time ever last night and I liked it too.  Not a big fan of European Street Cafe.  The Grape was fun but expensive for eating.  Sumo Sushi - by far my favorite!!!!!  I also went to Yummy Sushi and it was pretty good.  Nice presentation.  I want to try Seven Bridges and Fontana as well as the brunch at The Crabcake Factory.  Oh and how could I forget The Fox is the best for breakfast!

~total foodie here

I did try Seven Bridges and eh, it was okay.  It wasn't some place that I just have to go back to.

We went to The Black Bean in San Marco today.  I had a veggie cuban that was one of the best meatless sandwiches I've had.  The fries are good too.

Oh and I haven't actually eaten there yet (although the food looked great) - I sure could go for some Bold City Brewery right about now.  Games and beer.  Awesomeness.
