Oh this is rich! I just got back from a trip around Oklahoma/Texas/Mississippi/Tennessee, and my new letter carrier came by to introduce herself today. She pulled up and started talking about the family which lost this house in the forclosure disaster. Just before losing the house the family lost a 10 year +/- old daughter in a car wreck in Jacksonville. The letter carrier says "This is weird, but I still see her, she often meets me at the mail box and we talk..." So I'm thinking, WOW! COOL! I just bought the house at Sleepy Hollow... It's "hainted" (aka: "Hain't no tell'in what will happen next). Anybody else have a resident ghost out there...?

Where's Casper when I need him?

"THE GHOST OF OCKLAWAHA HOUSE," damn, that has a ring to it!

That's weird Ock
Well there is something that happened Right before we moved into my house after a two year renovation. We rented the house next door so we could keep an eye on the house. A week after we had the power turned on. I would leave a light on so the house would look occupied, I turned the upstairs bath room light on and went next door. I looked out the staircast window and noticed the light was out. so i went back over to turn a light back on ( I thought the bulb burned out ) I went to the same bathroom and the switch was off, I thought huh. I turned the light back on and went next door I looked out the window again and thought WTF the light was out again. I went in the house and grabbed  A drywall hammer and went back over.  I walked in and yelled who the hell is in here. I check each room as I went though the house, when I got to the upstairs bathroom the switch was off again. Well I turned it back on rechecked all the rooms and went next door again. I looked out the window and the light was still on. I watched the last 10 minutes of the news before going to bed, on the way to bed I looked out the window and the light was off again. I then grabbed a gun and went back over. I went into the house and yelled who ever is in here I'm going to F U up. I went from room to room checking everthing in the house including the attic. When i got to the upstairs bathroom the switch was off again. I turned on a different light on and went back next door, I stayed up for an hour to make sure the light stayed on and it did.

Well if the lights go off here, at least I know who to blame! hee hee.

Did you buy in Springfield. I remember reading you were looking at the 3 story apartment building by the park (Big train room)

Yeah, I was in love with that big old brick place on 2Nd, but never got with the owner on anything... he still thinks he'll get $500,000 for the place, and it's about as toasted as Annie Lytle.

No actually it is why the story is very weird, the house is only 2-3 years old and is in Heritage Landing / World Golf Village. So new home, and new ghost to go with it... maybe we'll all learn the ropes together.

Whoooooo Whoooooo! hee hee

That is probably the youngster in our office truning your lights off cause we chased her out of here. You can't even go to the copy machine and find the light on when you return. Can't explain starter current surge to here either.

I had some friends that bought a house south on SR 13. They removed an unframed mirror from the bathroom wall to paint and found a note from the previous owner. The note stated that the house was haunted and they'd all be doomed. They never noticed any odd happenings and figured the previous owner was haunted, not the house.

HA!!!  That is a great idea!  I think I'll do something like that if I move out of my house.  :)

Maybe write "Bloody Mary" three times behind the mirror.....

Deuce

Great story Sam. I can see visual you doing that.
