City looks to bolster security in Riverside amid reports of late-night partying

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville city leaders are considering a plan that would help boost security in Riverside along King Street.

Residents have reported illegal drinking, street racing and guns inside businesses, and council members said the unruly behavior is getting out of hand.

5 Points gets too wild for me these days. It feels unsafe and not fun on Friday and Saturday nights.

I've been there when they make it a police state, too. That obviously kills the vibes pretty bad.

It's a sad situation, a place that used to be the coolest spot to hang is now too popular and has turned into a powderkeg at times, just like Jax Beach.

Then again, I really don't like the club scene, which has slowly made its way into 5 Points and made it feel less "artsy alternative" and more "meat market night club"
