Definitely a blow to Springfield and the aura of a Main Street renaissance.

There are internal factors involved, which were alluded to in the statement. Hence, they don't wish to discuss the details publicly.

There's at least a half dozen new businesses planned to open on or near Main Street in Springfield in the next 6 months.

Great news. Still need the blocks from 1st Street up through 6th to fill in.

Multi-family will likely play a large role in that.

Filling up 12 consecutive blocks (1st-12th) of commercial space is pretty darn difficult anywhere. That's like 5 Points + Park & King + Shoppes of Avondale combined.

I'm surprised Vestcor hasn't put something in along those blocks. IIRC, Last time those vacant parcels and buildings were for sale it was overpriced.  Vestcor's new build in Murray Hill is finished I think.  Let's see what impact it has on that stretch of Edgewood.

Stopped by this afternoon, business was booming. Also appeared the building has been sold as there were the survey stakes on the corners of the property.  Also while there one of the owners of Engine 15 came in and the friends we were with told us that the young lady working behind the bar was from Engine 15.....perhaps an indication.

well Engine 15 had been looking to come back to the urban core ever since the Myrtle Avenue location closed

A new brewery will be taking over the Main & Six location.
