Yard waste pickup

I wasn't sure where to post this. My issue specifically is in Arlington but I'm sure it's happening citywide.

What is the status of yard waste pickup? I live off Ft Caroline and our yard waste has not been picked up for at least three weeks. My street at this moment filled with weeks worth of tree limbs and garbage cans/bags piling up.

I know this issue popped up a few months ago and it was because of a "labor shortage".

Excuse my ignorance here but is the city (and in turn us taxpayers) not paying a company to provide a service they are not providing?

There is a region-wide shortage of trash workers. From what I've read/heard in Jax specifically, it seems to only be impacting the areas that have contracted services and not the core COJ-covered areas.

It looks like Republic Services is getting kicked to the curb entirely.

I live on the N/S and I have given up on yard waste pickup.  Last time I put it out it sat for over 3 weeks and was killing my grass.  I waited until the next regular garbage day and put it in the garbage container.  My councilman did nothing.  I called at-large councilman Carlucci and his office did try to help.  If these trash haulers would pay a decent wage and treat their employees decently, they wouldn't have staffing problems as much.

We live in the Baymeadows area and it's hit or miss. Longest we've gone without yard trash pickup is maybe 2 weeks.

Same as Westside...

You can go to COJ website to put in a 630-city complaint ticket
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Mandarin,: last week was the first time in about 6 weeks yard waste was picked up. However, it looked like an out of town company helping to remove the backlog. Also, I know other portions of Mandarin were collected earlier than us. This week will be the first test to see if they will return back to regular schedule.

Mandarin here also....have had it picked up ONCE since 6/24......and that was by an out of town company about 2 1/2 weeks ago.

I'm in Lake Shore and it was 4 straight Tuesdays that it wasn't picked up, but then they sent out a truck on a random Sunday morning. I created a ticket on the MyJax COJ website, so maybe that helped.

Our yard pickup day is Tuesday.  Everything got picked up yesterday. Baymeadows for the win.

Geez.  Core city services ftw.

Thanks. Did this yesterday.

Also contacted Joyce Morgan's office but currently playing phone tag with a member of her staff. Meanwhile the yard waste continues to pile up.

Yard waste in our neighborhood was finally picked up a couple days ago, after four weeks. It took multiple complaint tickets, calls with Joyce Morgan's office and calls to mayors office to finally get it done.

Feels like that shouldn't be a requirement to get a service we pay for.

Recycle hasn't been picked up this week, second time this has happened now. I can't remember when they finally sent out that truck to pick it up, but every street in the neighborhood still have all their cans out.
