Out of towners - what to do!?

Hey y'all....

Have some out of towners in JAX for the weekend. NYC.

Been so long since I've had to show someone around...been out of town so much don't remember what it's like to figure out "things to do"....

So, need a quick 'Jax top 10'...things to do...they have a car!

Any advice welcome and appreciated

A movie at the Sun Ray Theatre in five points and coffee at the Brew right next door.
The MoCA has a great exhibit up this weekend,
Cocktails at Dos Gatos (say hello to Jack the doorman)
Cocktails and food on the rooftop at Black Sheep
Music show at Underbelly
the Patio at 1904 (skip the interior bar)
The old spanish fort out on Pumpkin Hill Preserve
A Planetarium show
The Arboreteum is pretty cool as well
The Zoo has expanded a lot and we have the largest facility for bonobos in the US. Its one of the things that really sets Jville apart actually.

Will Hamburger Mary's really be unique if the guest is plugged into the local LGBT scene in NYC? Ever heard of The Box?

Yes. it has the highest concentration of national title winners of any similar cabaret in the US.
If they are here until Monday take them to go see Karrissa Wade, one of the best comedy drag performers in the US.

I saw you mentioned Arboreteum. Is that the UNF one?

Good list Stephen. If you hit the Kingsley Plantation/Talbot Islands area stop at the Sandollar, get a table on the river and load up on shrimp. Don't forget to try the hush puppies either.

Take them to Big Talbot Island to go wading in the bioluminescent water at night.

I don't understand.  I've been here a dozen times and never hear this.  The water literally glows up at night? Like this?
