More Coffee to King St.?

Not content to just be the "Historic Pizza and Sushi district", we will now become the "Historic Pizza, Sushi and Coffee" district.

Sushi District? We have one sushi place near king street.

Pizza...yes, everywhere.

Riverside as a whole. The area is more than just the King Street Bad Parking and Smashed Side Mirror District.

This definitely has a little more depth then just another coffee place, i like the idea of bulk health foods and such.

And it isn't uncommon for urban areas to have similar businesses so close to each other. Look at all the bars on King Street.

I will say its impressive that all the pizza and sushi continue to make a good go of it.

1 Sushi place at Park/King, 2 in 5Points, 1 in Avondale.
2 Pizza places on King (neither a classic pizza joint), 2 in 5Points (If we count Papa Johns, which I am not incline to), 1 in Avondale, 1 in Fairfax
0 coffee places on King, 1 on Stockton, 1.5 now in 5Points (I'm giving Brew a half for being half a beer bar and also for having plain coffee only in the morning).

19 or 20 other food/beer establishments on King and Park/King that are not primarily pizza, sushi, or coffee. I don't see the Pizza/Sushi thing at King or even Riverside as a whole.

We've got more sandwich places than homes.

You're forgetting Cool Moose, which is technically a coffee place... sorta...

And while not technically 'just' a coffee place, sometimes I don't feel like biking over to Stockton, so I get my Bold Bean fix at Sweet Theory. 

We need to set some parameters here, lol.  I wonder if you can get a cup of joe at Panda House.....

MORE ON KING

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about Riverside Liquors & Village Wine Shop planning a move from Five Points to King Street a mile away. The street's going to get even busier:

J.P. Salvat and Mariah Goelz are opening Southern Roots Filling Station between Pele's Wood Fire and Beer:30. It will be both a coffee shop and a store featuring the goodies and herbs that Goelz has been selling at local farmers' markets. (Try the pumpkin seed pesto.)

Meanwhile Silver Cow, which opened earlier this year on King just south of Park, is already expanding. Owner Regina Heffington is taking over the space next to Silver Cow which she will call The Annex, which will have games and about 30 craft beer taps in addition to the 26 Silver Cow has. The two rooms will be connected, and she's hoping to open in about two months.

Well the difference is that not everything is meant to make a profit. Which for whatever bizarre reason people seem to have no trouble understanding when it comes to building public roads and other infrastructure to support private developments. We just have differing views on the privatization of what should be, and historically were, and still are on most of the developed world, public services. Things that are unquestionably a business, by all means I'm free market all the way. You just have to break out the sectors that exist for the public good, from what's actually a business.

BREW serves espresso drinks and cold brew during all open hours. I'm assuming by plain coffee you mean drip coffee?
