The Murray Hill Garden at the corner of Hamilton and Lawnview Streets has been cleared, tilled, and is being prepped to return to its former use as a community garden.  MHPA is heading up the revitalization of the garden.  See the link below for more information and to possibly lend a hand.

Neighbors agave really come together to grow within this community garden .

I really like the wildflowers that were planted along the borders facing the street

I am able to get fruit and vegetable compost if needed.
I live right around the corner from the garden.
The wild flowers do look pretty  ;D

This is wonderful. I'd love to help out!
It's time to move past being a city with potential, and become a city living up to it's potential.

If anyone want more information about the garden or would like a plot check out our website www.murrayhillcommunitygarden.com

The website is not complete yet but we do have our application, rules and a plot map available with pricing and plot sizes.
We welcome all donations: compost, bagged leaves, pine straw, old garden tools and helping hands.

If you are interested in volunteering you can contact me at: murrayhillcommunitygarden@gmail.com

You can thank Mills Smith for the donation of wildflower seeds for our flower border.

Please, I beg you all, before launching your newly made-over community garden, PLEASE come to the south end of Hamilton St., & see how volunteers with ANYONE CAN PLANT A SEED, PERMACULTUREJAX & LAPS have completely revamped the Lake Shore community garden which is situated between the picnic gazebos along the LakeShore Blvd. side of the ballpark (across from Lamb's Yacht Center & Lakeshore Dry Storage.

Hugel mounds have been contoured into the earth with slight troughs to capture any rain, and the hay traps all thr morning dew.
This style of gardening requires far less human input, almost zero watering, and minimal weed pulling.
You will not regret reaching out to Alex Ojeda, Jessica Walton Nelson, Wil Betzig, or James Matheny!

They already have access to a large greenhouse in Murray Hill on Edgewood Ave. for propagation.
We gather at the Lake Shore garden on the last Sunday of each month at either 3 or 4pm to offer free Q&A.
Find these folks & groups on FACEBOOK

This is ALL ORGANIC, CHEMICAL FREE, top down, river&aquifer friendly gardening that requires the least human input, and provides the highest, healthiest yields.
You all, at the corner of Lawnview at Hamilton already have the wonderful benefit of a mature hardwood shady overstory.

We look forward to working with you to produce the healthiest harvest!

What's great is that the Murray Hill Community Garden is really a place where people come together as a community to make our neighborhood a better place.

There is some gardening going on at the Christian apartments on Edgewood. There is a group called "our fertile earth" working on that garden. I'm glad the concept of gardening is huge in M/H. I like riding my bike and seeing kale in someone's front yard.
