The Jacksonville Jaguars

BridgeTroll

Unwatchable, unprepared, uninspired, unbelievable, and seemingly uncoached. What a spectacularly poor performance. Every player and coach should be embarrassed.
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

My opinion is Khan should focus on the team and forget about developing Lot J.

Lot J IS the team.  If Lot J doesn't happen the team relocates.  The product on the field is increasingly becoming a non-factor for the NFL.  Heck, in most new stadiums there is just as much socializing space as there are seats.  The media is quick to jump on the empty seats but I suspect that is in part because the lounges and giant open bars are full.

In my opinion since Khan makes a big deal about Lot J being important to the viability of the Jags in Jax, then any incentive money for Lot J and the Shipyards requires he extend the lease for the Jaguars with an iron clad clause that breaking it will cost a crazy amount of money AND also includes verbiage that no more than one home game can be played outside of Jacksonville in a season. barring a natural disaster resulting in a home game being moved. If he is not willing to at least do this for additional taxpayer money then he is not committed to Jax so let the divorce proceedings begin. And as a 22 year season ticket holder id not be happy but it is time he make a real commitment or the gravy train ends.

I agree with MusicMan.  Nobody wants to listen to requests for more money for the Jags in their current situation.  They need primarily a personnel person and perhaps a new coach.  Coughlin isn't doing enough.  Look at all the first round picks the Jags have squandered, the busts they have obtained in free agency.  Every mistake they make they worsen by both not learning and sticking with their bad choices long after they should have moved on.  We don't need to build Kahn a world class stadium until he fields a team that is worthy of such a stadium.

He could guarantee a competitive team.  The team breaks .500 or everyone who bought a ticket gets 25% cash back.

Guarantee? You should stick to just bashing the Jags. You're better at that.

You don't like a performance guarantee in exchange for saving his franchise?  He wants $265 million from taxpayers under the guise that it make the team financially viable in Jax, then we need a guarantee that the team will be competitive.  What is wrong with that?

Knowing Khan, he would add a Performance Guarantee Fee to the ticket and food/beverage in anticipation of sucking and having to pay out.

The team has been mediocre but you seem to be suggesting they are back to the 2012-2016 team.

The team is 4-5 while being led most of the year by a sixth round rookie quarterback. They were competitive in every game until this past Sunday.

I'm no Coughlin fan boy. I think he mishandled the Ramsey situation but still got a good return of picks for him. He has had three first round picks.
One currently leads the AFC in rushing. Another might win Defensive Rookie of the Year. He also drafted a receiver in the second round that currently leads the AFC in yards and is second in the NFL in TD receptions.

If this was doable, the Browns would have come up with this a LONG time ago. We can complain all we want, but our last 25 years is nowhere near that bad - the Browns have 1 playoff appearance since returning to the league in 1999.

Non-RedNeck Westsider

The fact is that nearly half the league has a sub .500 record over the last 20 years.  The ones that have been +.500 have (or have had) either a HOF QB, a HOF coach, or both (I fucking hate the Pats).

I mean I guess it's how you want to quantify it.  Giants are sub .500, but have 2 SB wins.  Indy is +.600 and had a first round ballet HOF QB, but only won a single SB in his 14 years on the team.  He did it in 4 with the Broncos who look to be an absolute mess for the foreseeable future.

People want to give us shit because we've only made the AFCC game twice in 20 years.  8 teams haven't made it that far (since 1999) and one of those is the Texans.  Also Since 1999 - only 6 of the 24 teams have been 4 times or more!  2 of those 6 have been 6 times and the Pats have been to 13!

I just don't get why people have this expectation that we should be going to the playoffs every year.  I mean, it would be awesome, but it's just not the reality of the NFL.

To be fair, there's a LOT of die-hard and avid Jags fans out there. Lots of lukewarm fans, too. Some fairweather fans, and a bunch people who don't care too much but will root for the team.

Only Kerry thinks our tickets should come with a written agreement to win Or your money back, Guaranteed! (TM)

Keith-N-Jax

If thats the case everything you buy should have a written guarantee. Food, amusement parks, and so on.
