I am eager to see ticket sales data.  The Jags are saying the right things but I know way more people dropping tickets than people getting new tickets.

Do you think that the people you 'know' will put a significant subtracting dent with the gameday attendance? If so, you must know thousands upon thousands.

I guess it depends....  I know of about 15 people at St. V's that just bought season tickets for the first time, anywhere from 1 to 6 each.  There was a small discount given to St. V employees and several people jumped at the chance.

And sure, you can say, 'so what?', but that's still approx. 30-40 season tickets sold in one day at one hospital....  How many hospitals were given the same opportunity?
No, that's impressive (although the discounts have always been there).  Its only speculation until we see the data but I believe sales will be down.

I know of at least 63 that dropped.  Its anecdotal evidence.  Was not suggesting that I know of 4,00 dropped tickets, but don;t let that stop you from acting like an @sshole.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.  With absolutely ZERO substantiating facts, I believe sales will actually be up from last year:

1.  A lot of us are having to re-up or from the 30-30 plan.
2.  New culture, new coach, new manager = fresh start & new energy / excitement about the team (until we lose the first 3 games, lol, then it all becomes, "same ol' Jaguars" - either way, the season-long commitment has already been made)
3.  Generation J is really starting to come into their own. - Read Alfie's column.
4.  We have a fantastic marketing department that is out there doing their jobs.
5.  London

It seems like Megatron is overly pessimistic with every Jags or Jax issue; I think that he's Doctor K's brother or something. The Jags attendance will be fine this upcoming season.

I think this is where Khan and Lamping have hit it out of the park. They realize how young the fanbase is and are embracing the first generation of Jaguar fans. I am 33 and have had season tickets since 2001. When my group of friends bought tickets we were no doubt the youngest people in our section and it was like that for most of the 2000's. But over the last couple of seasons, you cannot help but notice how young the crowd is at Jaguars games. 30 is probably now the median age. For alot of them, they hardly remember a time when Jacksonville did not have an NFL team. This generation is what will form the foundation of a fanbase for years to come.

It is similar to what happened in Seattle. I lived there in the mid-late 80's as a kid and I remember going to games and the Kingdome being half empty. Home games were almost always blacked out. The first 20 years or so of Seahawks history is very similar to the first 20 years of Jaguars history. But once that first generation of Seahawks fans grew up and became ticket holders, the fanbase exploded. Seattle fans are now considered amongst the best in the league. Would not shock me to see the same thing happen here over the next 15-20 years.

SO my friend you are the GM and the team president now? You just know it all dont you! If megatron said it, that settles it? You do know that you DONT know everything right?  And as far as ticket sales, season tickets are going like hot potatoes. No need to speculate on that.

You are so right. Im 31 and Ive my tickets for about 3 years now. When I first started going to games in 2010 I was like dang our fan base is OLD. I also talked to several past season ticket holders that just stopped going because they stated they got too old, and they just watch it on TV. The new generation of fans have trickled in over the past few years and they dont care about the team sucking, they just love the Jaguars. Khan also mentioned a month ago season ticket sales are going at a RECORD pace. Good things are coming Jax.

Not at all, I am just a realist.  My block of 80 is down to 38.

Where is the evidence that tickets are selling like hot potatoes?  Maybe they are.  I just have not seen that data.

I guess we can take Khan's word.

QuoteWe’re also off to a record start on season ticket sales in Jacksonville even though we have raised prices and had a 2-14 season. We expect to have record season ticket sales. It’s about engaging the season ticket holders and doing a lot with the gameday experience.

Who's whining?  Not me.  You just take anything close to being objectively negative about the Jaguars way too personally.
