The government actually gets them all the time, and ignores the majority of them because they have no relivance. The government can not force a business to hire to someone, so no issue their. It will be interesting to see if 10,000 actually care that much about the almighty tebow playing here.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but it feels like there isn't much of a Tebow outcry in Jacksonville these days.

The vocal minority will always be there, but it sure feels like calmer heads have prevailed since the Jets released him.

315 people signing a goofy, misdirected petition to the President isn't a "thing," nor is it a reflection of the city's mentality overall. Truthfully, those who think that sending an e-petition to the President demanding the Jaguars sign Tim Tebow are probably the same people who think he's an NFL caliber starting quarterback. There's no way to say it without sounding like a jerk, but if these locals believe this is a logical thing to do, I doubt they could afford an NFL ticket to begin with.

Most people I talk to seem really optimistic about the direction of the franchise, and the leadership running the show.

Luke Joeckel is supposedly TEARING UP the mini-camp, local stores can't keep the new Jags gear in stock, and the London game is going to be huge for Jacksonville.

Also, I really hate the argument that Tim Tebow will "put more butts in seats." Where's the evidence to support such a decisive claim? Last year's Jets game didn't exactly set the world on fire. When people say such a thing, they blindly assume that every Tebow fan is going to magically start buying tickets, and every Tebow hater (who equal, if not outweigh, the fans) will still come to the stadium. A year ago, it might have been an interesting idea, but it's just not needed at this point. Attendance is on an upswing, the Jags feel as stable in Jacksonville as they have in a decade, and there's no "ticket problem" for some savior to come in and fix. Best thing the front office can do is to keep stringing together great drafts like this, keep improving year after year, and continue working to enhance the fan experience at Everbank.

We don't need a questionable, polarizing quarterback to fix a problem that simply doesn't exist in the first place.

The loudest people on this topic are not even Jaguar fans and rarely are in Jacksonville. It's usually the media and Gator fans refusing to let go of a guy who finished playing for their school almost four years ago. It's weird.

Probably not another Aaron Ross.  Probably more likely a mentor for Bradley's system and possibly a one-year stopgap starter.  I also wonder if he would start at nickel.  Oehser made it sound last week like Mike Harris wasn't a definite as the nickel back.
