I just can't support this endeavor, Stephen...

I heard that someone's cousin's ex-best-friend's brother-in-law who once walked by a rooming house ate lunch there today. This is just TERRIBLE for the neighborhood. Think of the children! Besides, SPAR will have it shut down by tomorrow...

lmao  Your sarcasm isn't even funny.  I'm sure the owners (also Burrito Gallery) don't want your negativity to permeate Uptown Market.

A: Who appointed you the official arbiter of humor? That's right...nobody.

B: I said nothing negative about BG or the Market. I like BG and its owners. I was just kidding about SPAR not them.

Strider and I got a tour of the place on Saturday.  What a nice job they have done.  And I think the lunch seating and the dinner-to-go idea makes a lot of sense.

Welcome to Main Street!

Had an ice cream afterwards at CityKidz.  Pretzel cone of all things!  With butter almond ice cream.  Fabulous.

I had a late breakfast at Uptown Market this morning.

Seems like the deli isn't up & running yet, and their grocery shelves aren't fully stocked yet - but breakfast & lunch are being served.

I ordered the Buttermilk Pancakes ($5.50) and the Breakfast Burrito ($6 something), b/c i'm a big eater.

Well, I was quite surprised with the portions - LARGE. I had take a to-go box. The presentation was great, far better than you see anywhere else for breakfast, but more importanttly the food was really, really good.

I mean, really first rate. I was quite surprised. The Fox / Metro Diner are no longer my favorite breakfast spots in town. Complimentary mini-carrot/raisen muffins too.

I ate outside, under an umbrella, where a few other people weere eating as well. A pleasant atmosphere. There was a family inside eating. I can easily see this place becoming very popular for breakfast & lunch rather quickly.

Thanks for the review fsu, I'm definitely gonna have to try this place out then.

The 15 minute trek to S'field is still shorter than the wait at either the Metro or Fox, especially on the weekends. I have been lamenting how there's really only two decent breakfast places in town (Moose and Metro), so hopefully this will make a 3rd option.

^Here's hoping you have a 15 minute trek, and then a wait when you get there. ;)

I also had breakfast there today.

Ordered the Western Omelet and Cappuccino. Found out that the espresso machine is on order but has not arrived yet. So I went with the regular coffee instead.

First pleasant surprise was the complimentary mini muffins. It really shortens the wait and gives it a nice touch. Wish it would have been served with unsalted butter though. I meant to ask for it (perhaps they had it) but the muffins were so good that they were gone before I could ask for it. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of coffee. Nice flavor, good color and not your usual tee looking light brew.

The western omelet tasted excellent, was cooked to perfection and garnished very nicely. Very nice portion size. The hash browns were good too with the potatoes evenly cooked through.

Overall a pleasant experience.

Eddie told me that they plan on having dinners to go soon. Priced around $14 which will be serving 2 persons.

Springfield Girl

Went for lunch today and it was everything and more than we expected. Yea for Springfield and the Uptown Market. It was packed and I hope other businesses will take notice.

thelakelander

Went for lunch today as well.  The meal was good and it was great to see people dining out on the sidewalk.

Yeah, I do hope they make it and stay busy...
