Dwilliams, I would say the service of the Brick has improved a great deal.  I hated it when it first opened, but now I'm a fan.  I agree with FSU, probably stay away from Walkers for now.  Awesome interior/layout, not a great spot to take the wife.

DT bar crawl: Burrito Gallery to London Bridge to Poppy Love Smoke to Dos Gatos to TSI to Dive Bar to Mark's to Ivy to Landing via new pedestrian park.  Who's up for it?  ;)

I'm there!  Hmm hope I don't have to go to the Shell on Main to get beer before 2am, have had some interesting experiences there so far.

The Sinclair and Cafe 331 get no love from the bar crawl?? I would love to see an event like this.  Add to this some live entertainment at Hemming and Landing Coutyard and you've got a regular festival.  Too bad the courthouse "flex space" is no longer available.  $20 a ticket and dollar drafts at the bars......I can see it now.

Sinclair and Cafe 331 are WAY over on the westside of DT.  We'd need knee pads to crawl that far.  ;)

Walkers is a gay bar now, fyi. At least on the weekends. I wouldn't go there with your wife, it's rather awkward.

Why would this be awkward?

I know. I'll take 331 and the Sinclair over any place in the landing.
Conformulate. Be conformulatable! It's a perfectly cromulent deed.

It would be awkward if you mistaked the metro for a straight place. (how could you tho?)
Walkers...not sure how that would be awkward unless your somewhat homophobic

Cafe 331 and the Sinclair are like 4-5 blocks from LB and BG, it's not that bad.

And I'd say Walkers is gay friendly, but I dont think they label themselves as a gay bar. But hey, if you're a handsome straight dude and don't want to give off a false advertisement vibe, that's understandable.

I'd recommend checking out The Boot Rack off Lenox & Cassat for a more everyday people, salt of the earth feel.

Yeah that would be like saying Kickbacks is strictly a gay bar.

Kickbacks is 1 of my favorite places in town.  Great mixed crowd...a little bit of everything.  If you love diversity then they got you covered.  And more importantly, if you like beer then they DEFINITELY got you coverered!

BridgeTroll

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

No its not. I was there last weekend with my wife, and we enjoyed the environment. There was a nice mixture of people, and while yes, there appeared to be several gay couples there, it wasn't remotely uncomfortable.

That said, even if it were gay, why would it be uncomfortable? Its not like its a sex club or something?

I've gone twice on the weekend with some friends. We were literally the only straight people there, while everyone looked at us like we were nuts. Not many str8 people enjoy watching gays guys make out in at the next table, and eye you up & down like a piece of meat. (ha) now i know how women feel!
