I didn't catch this last week but Duval County actually lost people over the past year?

I'll have to go back and find the link, but Jacksonville had one of the largest declines in the state.

This was also the first year since 1946 that Florida's population declined.

Do the population declines follow any other indicators like drop in employment or increase in foreclosures? Nice to see we hit the 900,000 mark!

This may mean Austin, TX may jump us in the rankings in the 2010 Census results.

However, if it was just .5%, that'd be about 4,000 or so people, but an overall increase from 2000.
Jacksonville: We're not vertically challenged, just horizontally gifted!

Do you think these numbers are skewed? People may be living with family and friends due to all the foreclosures, not reporting their new residences if it's only temporary.
