The Jacksonville Transportation Authority might begin running trolleys every eight minutes between downtown and Five Points starting this spring. The service was proposed in response to common lunchtime complaints about cramped parking in the two areas. Plans are to run the trolleys midday in a loop from the Central Skyway Station downtown to Five Points using Riverside Avenue.

QuoteJTA is taking public comments before making the downtown-to-Five Points trolley route official. Surveys on public transit and downtown mobility can be found on the agency's Web site, www.jtafla.com.

Well, this actually makes some sense.  I think this will do a ton better than the Azalea and Magnolia Line, provided there is good signage and it runs on time.

We went to the meeting. Glad to see a few metrojacksonville notables.
Had to laugh: The designated parking was in the front of St. Joe building. Entrance at front, down a long hall, turn left to another hall, to hall end with stairwell. Down stairwell two flights to back of building, past back doors which front on Riverwalk and into meeting room. It would have been quicker to walk to meeting on Riverwalk.

This is really one of the most laughable of Miller's recent statements.  Yes, the retro-buses are better than the modern ones but no one confuses them with the old street cars which would be infinitely more popular but will never see the light of day under the current JTA idiocracy.
