Hello everyone. I have been scanning the forums here for quit some time now, finally decided to sign up so I can post. It really makes it easier knowing there are so many others who want the same for our Dowtown and urban cores. I have lived in Riverside for nearly three years and absolutely love every day of it. My favorite parts of town are by far Riverside and Downtown. I spend most of my weekends and even some weeknights on Bay St as well as the assortment of bars in 5-Points. From time to time I wonder to the beaches but it never quit feels the same. I love historical parts of Jacksonville (Riverside, Avondale, Springfield etc.) and love seeing them flourish. I wish I personally could do more to see our Downtown expand into something people from around the country would enjoy visiting. Anyways... I look forward to reading more post and giving my thoughts and ideas to the rest of you.

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

 ;) Hello,
I visited the Jacksonville Public Library for the first time. That place is awesome. I am so proud of our city for constructing such a beautiful building and providing such great products and services. After spending more than two hours doing some family genealogy research I walked around downtown. When I started my banking career in July 1964 I worked downtown for over five years. I has sure changed some for the better but I was disappointed at some of the old beautiful building that had been torn down. However, in a few cases a much more modern and beautiful building has been constructed. At any rate I enjoyed my afternoon. As a young child it was a treat to get dressed up at Christmas time and go to look at all the decorations in the Cohen Brothers (now city hall) windows and then go eat at Morrison's Cafeteria. Anyway time marches own and it seem to marching across my face and like me gets better with age. :D :D
