Downtown Jacksonville to get Wayfinding Signage?



Over the past three years, Metro Jacksonvlle has pushed for better signage downtown, particularly in the area of wayfinding signage for pedestrians. Now, it looks like Metro Jacksonville is about to get its wish granted. At the July meeting of the Downtown Development Review Board, the group heard a preliminary proposal for downtown signage.

I've heard the JEDC is looking for money to implement - a couple million? 
I think it's a great idea, I am a little concerned about all these new posts on already cluttered sidewalks in some locations.

To JEDC: Find that money!

Need money?  How about using some of that $26 million intended for Metropolitan Park?  My guess is that the money is there.  It just depends on what is considered a high priority.

Very good news!  It looks like they are serious. 

With the continuing upgrades to East Bay Street and the comming upgrades to Laura, this will be another great addition to the downtown making it MUCH more user friendly and inviting.

This is great!  A big step forward for our city!

MetroJax was very much ahead of the City Council but let's be happy it's getting done.  Goes to show what we can accomplish here!  Keep up the good work MetroJax!
