What's going on at Lee High School?

This morning I left my house to find every entry and exit to Lee being watched by JSO. I mean a ton of them. Anyone got the skinny?

There was a channel 4 news crew. But they don't have any info on the site yet. Hmmm..

My guess is that several of those involved in the block party shooting are students there. What I read was that most of those attending and caught up in that fiasco were 17-21. I would imagine the JSO is afraid of retribution/spill-over into today. I would also imagine that most of those who would participate in such acts are truants and won't be at school anyway, but I guess you gotta be safe. I could be wrong but those are my guesses.

I talked to the cops there this morning and they said with the end of the school year here they are there to make sure that there are no shenanigans. I will say that area has experienced a rise in burglaries are the last two months, so I can't say I am too upset by seeing them.

Glad to see things haven't changed since I went to school there in the mid 1990's. Police used to sit outside all the time, normally pulling us over for speeding!

i really wish they were there all of the time, to keeps these kids on there toes, I truly believe that if my neighbors across the street weren't retired and keeping a beeline on everyones houses we would have more break-ins.

Read between the lines on that one. With the block-party riot, all the recent shootings, etc., the cops are there to prevent an eruption of violence. If it's just kids doing kid stuff, like smoking weed behind a building or whatever, then I don't think they're going to mess with that.

They're probably there to prevent any more 'incidents', and then when the kids come back next year hopefully things will have cooled off by then.
