Well it all makes sense now. It's no wonder you could get that much food for 5.45! I know there's roaches in the food, but...really, do you know how hard it is to get lunch downtown for under 8 bucks?  At least I know my immune system's functioning properly....but please don't tell me Pete's pizza has been hit with numerous healthcode violations as well. That was where I ate the other two days a week when working downtown. 3 slices and a drink for 3.99!

no...you can rest easy...they've actually had several perfect reviews with no violations!

$3.99 for a drink and three slices of Pizza?  A jumbo hotdog from a street vendor will cost you $2.50.  That's a great deal.

Yep it's no Renas/Als/Chicago Pizza, but 3 slices usually held me over from my 1130 am lunch break until dinner time. Great place to go when you can't decide on anything or if you're just craving some good greasy pizza. Extra slices are only .99 cents more as well.

A few years back I purchased two dinners from the chinese restaurant about two stalls down from Bourbon Express.  When I got home and prepared to chow down I opened the lid to find they had garnished my fried rice with a great big roach whole body intact.

Oh wow, I didn't know they prepared such authentic dishes at the Landing.

hahah yes, it's a fear-factor inspired delicacy.

By the way, how is Fuddrucker's coming along?

BridgeTroll

The area is walled off and I think there is a CD playing "construction noises" inside... other than that... nothing as far as I can tell.
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Is the Coming Soon sign even there anymore?

fsujax

no the signs have been gone for a while now. nothing is happening.

coredumped

Anyone have any updates? The landing's website still says "coming soon."

I hope they will eventually open at The Landing.  Haven't we heard coming soon about the parking garage for the last 20 years also?

copperfiend

I think it will open when JTB is extended to Roosevelt.

New action at the Landing. From the Daily Record. this is exciting news!

"Keep the faith, burger lovers: Construction has resumed in earnest at the Fuddruckers location at the Landing. The interior framing is almost complete and a peek at the blueprints shows an outdoor covered patio extending into the walkway adjacent to Benny’s Steaks & Seafood and an in-house bakery with a service window across from The Toy Factory. Franchise owner David Farmer expects to flip the first Fuddrucker some time in April."

Wow, the Landing is making a major move in this economical crunch. Fuddruckers starts making progress again, they get Gold's Gym, Orange Tree & my favorite La Nopalera (even if it is under a different name).

I will go the first day if they open. And for as long as we have waited, it better be damn good.

Hopefully this seemingly-smart business maneuver (or at least, progress) made now pays off later when the economy rebounds.  I can certainly feel optimistic about this, as not only are tenants filling spaces within the Landing, but also bringing name-brand recognition.

Hopefully this is the first step towards the wider goal of The Landing's revitalization that's been dreamt about yet so elusive.
