A new look for Winn-Dixie

Hmmmmm....this was a very interesting read. Ock is crazy man, but I like many of his post lol.

Winn Dixie downtown how is it doing? It is great to see the Downtown location is the becoming the best location in the city. I am reading many many complaints...some are a little petty. One thing that definitely needs to be done is complaints to management and corporate offices. All of you nit picky shoppers need to call the corporate office so that Winn Dixie can become Publix. It works, trust me. I remember just how ghetto that store used to be, the cashiers and employees were just as ghetto as the shoppers, and I understand where some of you alls fear comes from. All the people on this site that claim they want Jax to become great or whatever, this store is vital. Have the corporate number in your speed dial on your cell phones. There should be NO REASON why bums pan handle there now. It has a fence, which make it PRIVATE PROPERTY. They should be reported and removed from the location asap! Like yesterday. The locking wheels is to combat the taking of shopping carts from the location. It works by frequency modulation, Once it hits the perimeter the wheel lock down and keep the cart from rolling, the cart can still be dragged but you'd have to be pretty desperate to drag a shopping cart. Making this Winn Dixie go from the Worst to the Best in the city has everything to do with the people who shop there. BUMS DON'T HAVE CELLPHONES, use yours to make a difference. Oh yeah throw Publix name in the conversation....it wont hurt getting results.

Remember folks complain, complain, complain, and this Winn Dixie will become the prettiest, safest, fluffiest Winn Dixie in Jacksonville. I'm heading to Kroger now. ttyl

Complain all you want, it's been going on for years. The fact of the matter is that Publix provides Premiere Customer Service to our customers. We go out of our way even if a customer comes in looking for something and we're out. Now, it's not to say that we're 100% perfect, but the customers that keep coming back, and being rated THE #1 Grocer in the Nation, that just speaks for it's self. It's a shame that Winn Dixie has become the ex significant other you cringe at when you hear or see their name. I've shopped there before, many times, and I always leave wanting to kick myself in the head. I can't even recall in the past year the few times I've had to go in for a couple things, that I was even greeted by ANYONE that works there. And this is at many different stores, not just one in particular.

I make a promise to myself that every day, I will go out of my way to help someone. Even tonight, when I was really trying to get blocking done in my Frozen Food section, (pulling everything forward), these two girls came up to asking where something was, and I smiled, walked 'em to it. 10 minutes later, they came back, asked me where something else was, I smiled again, and walked 'em to it. Does Winn Dixie do that? Or do they just tell you what aisle it's on?

Until Winn Dixie do a company wide overhaul of how they handle their customers, they can spend all the money the want giving their stores a newer look all they want, and it would be the same as polishing a rotten apple.

Publix is definitely my favorite grocery store, but I definitely don't want to see Winn-Dixie fail. It would be too much of a blow to the Jacksonville economy. The fact is though is that Publix has the cleaner stores, the better customer service, and the hotter cashiers, lol, just kidding but no seriously. Whenever I go into a Winn-Dixie it just feels like a dump. The lighting is poor, the store is dirty, and they only have a few registers open, whereas, when I go into a Publix it's pretty much the complete opposite. That being said though, the renovated downtown WD is pretty nice, but they need to do a better job cleaning the store. Last time I was there, I saw a discarded chicken bone sitting right out in the open on top of a display, and one aisle floor that looked like it hadn't been mopped in ages.

When does Whole Foods open? hehe

I do like Publix, but try to save on groceries so I usually shop at Target or take advantage of the specials with the Winn-Dixie Rewards Card.

Though not as frequent as before, I have noticed spilled drinks that have dried, banana peels and garbage at the remodeled downtown location.  I asked for an assistant manager or manager, informed them of the issues and was pleased to see one of the staff address the concern.  That type of action, along with being greeted by numerous staff from the time I entered until I paid for my groceries, has restored my hope in Winn-Dixie.

If you see something, please bring it to someone's attention.  I think you will be surprised by how seriously management takes into consideration their customer's experience and will waste little time implementing a resolution.

At the current rate of construction... probably around 2010.  I have never seen a slower project than Whole Foods.

That's because WFM only uses the freshest, minimally-processed ingredients...right down to construction materials.   :D

According to the Riverside Artists Market site, this weekend is the last one to get free H1N1 shots at Winn Dixie.
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

I assumed it was the last weekend to get the H1N1 vaccine at RAM, which makes sense b/c it's the last RAM for the season. However, I do not know for sure if WD will continue offering them after this weekend elsewhere.

Another thing Winn Dixie has failed at, supporting the Jaguars. If Publix were the primary sponsor you'd get people in the stands, EVEN for a 7-7 team!

Last time I checked, I did not see Mojo hanging out with a Publix Sub. The Jags support their partners very well.

Yet, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, Miami Dolphins, Florida Marlins & Tampa Bay Rays aren't desperate for a big sponsor.

Hmmm.

tufsu1

really...the Dolphis got Landshark Beer to put their name on the stadium for ONE year!

either way, sponsors have very little to do with putting fans in the seats...your citation of the Marlins & Rays proves that!
