Well, I guess I wasn't thorough enough in my initial reply. Publix doesn't have a name on any stadiums, but I'm pretty sure it helps a team when a corporate sponsor comes along see's their name.

I know that if anything is from Jax, 99% of you people here are gonna support 'em, so eh, oh well lol.

"VyStar;" wasn't that the old "Jax Navy Federal Credit Union?  I was a member of that for years.  I like the name "VyStar."  Kind of "out of this earth."

I want to love Winn-Dixie, but find it difficult when there is never more than one cash register open even when there are 19 people queued up.

I have never seen less than 2 registers open at the downtown store...and usually 3...with no more than 3 people ahead of me in line

One of the reasons I stopped going to the WD in my neighborhood.  It looked nice after the renovation, but they never had enough registers open.

My bad. :(

I hate that the parking lot at WD downtown is always a filthy mess. And I often experience long lines regardless of the time of day and the number of clerks cashiering, invariably I pick the line that's also moving the slowest!

On a brighter note, last time in, there was a gal who was new, never seen there before, but what a whiz w/ the register! Somehow she managed to get her machine to accept a coupon for a brand of product I wasn't even purchasing. She brought the mistake to my attention first and they endeavored to override her terminal successfully, wow! That's never happened anywhere!

I for one am dreading another dollar store. I refuse to frequent such establishments!

Wow.... talk about bringing back a dead thread!  :)

Anyway... I havent been to that WD in yearrrrrs... since before the renovation.   Anyone have any pics of it?   Is it still looking ok?

The exterior looks nice and the interior is a step up from the pre-renovation store.  Because I live near the Mathews Bridge, I am within minutes of this store.  I, however, choose not to shop there because my Publix has better service.  I have never gone to a Publix where there were more than three people queued up at a checkout line.

Even the Mayor is tauting a new WD downtown so it needed reviving!
