A food hall and French-Asian bakery are part of the store, which also offers familiar American products.

QuoteLotte Plaza Market held its grand opening Sept. 12, drawing a line of customers eager to see what the Asian specialty supermarket has to offer.

The 45,985-square-foot store is in the former Best Buy at 9355 Atlantic Blvd. in the Regency area of Arlington.

Maryland-based Lotte Plaza Market sells products from China, India, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Vietnam and other nations. Inside the store, there is a food hall selling Chinese, Japanese and Korean fare. The Tous les Jours French-Asian bakery also operates there.

For weekly meat deals, I regularly check who has pork shoulder on sale this week and it saves me money. Lotte's food hall sounds great for Asian eats, but for protein pricing that site is my go-to.

^Disregarding the bot, it's so cool to see what's happened in Jacksonville in the international market space in the last couple of years.

Lotte, TESO Life, RD International, Apna Bazar, Ebisu, etc.

Awesome to see all of these spots thriving.

Clearly there was a large, underserved audience for a long time here in Jacksonville. Hopefully the smaller legacy markets (Circle Japan, New World, Dragon, etc) are still feeling the love too.

^Still strange to me that we have not been able to take advantage of our international market in downtown. Something like a Lotte, RD International, Apna Bazar, etc. would add a lot of life in the core. Heck, I still think there's a lot we could do with the Jacksonville Farmers Market.
