Springfield Animal Hospital just opened at 1632 N. Main Street, with an adjacent dog friendly bar opening soon. The vacant lot next door will be an outdoor dog play area for bar and veterinarian patrons:

Purple Bagel also recently opened at 1703 N. Main Street. Just bagels, coffee, juice. Small sitting area, so great for grab & go:

That little cluster of businesses between 7th and main and 8th and main is exactly what needs to be mimicked downtown

I'll check the Purple Bagel out soon. I was sad to find out that Social Grounds Coffee, right across the street, has closed.

Yes, unfortunate. And not for reasons directly related to the performance of the business.

Artessence at 5th & Main is a good substitute, though the hours aren't as uniform.

1748 Bakehouse doesn't cater to, nor desires to be, a place for people to spend a couple hours while they work.

I've used Strings as a third place venue, as well, as it's large enough to accommodate those looking for such a space and they don't mind.
