The Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jags have been at half speed all year.  Agnew out, Zay Jones in and out, Trevor working through the knee injury from early in the year, Ingram not duplicating the success from last season.... It all came to a head last night with Kirk going down first and then Trevor.  Zay Jones had some spectacular catches and Washington has really stepped up, but we haven't had an offense that's been firing on all cylinders. Our defense had a terrible game, but the offense was still almost able to save us.  We need to win at least 2 of the next 5, but I think we should be able to win the last 3 even with a banged up roster.  If we can finish 11-6, I think we'll at least add an extra week or 2 to the season.

While true, however, no teams escape the NFL season unscathed. If we're depending on being at completely full strength from a health perspective just so we can play our first complete game of the season, we'll be here long enough to see I-10/95 road work completed.

We don't have the talent in the trenches to be a legitimate contender. Josh Allen is an animal but everyone else around him is below average. Our Oline is just terrible. Crazy to think our Rookie RT might be the best of the bunch. The defense has played decent for most of the year but whatever the hell that was last night was completely uncalled for. Coaching and playing.

I didn't want to start a new thread but the Jaguars clearly have security issues...

QuoteWas someone messing with the Jacksonville Jaguars' giant jumbotron?

On September 16, 2018, the Jaguars were playing the New England Patriots when the in-stadium screen experienced, in the US government's words, "a loss in reference sync which manifested as a large horizontal green lines [sic] appearing across one whole video board..."

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

U.S. District Court Judge Brian Davis sentenced Thompson, 54, on Monday [March 25, 2024] for producing and possessing child sex abuse material, violating the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act and hacking the Jacksonville Jaguars' Jumbotron screen.

In early 2018, the Jaguars did not renew Thompson's contract after learning of his history. But before his contract expired in March 2018, Thompson installed special software and remotely hacked the Jumbotron during three games, causing the video boards repeatedly to malfunction, prosecutors said.

For all the poor mouthing Khan says about the Jags financials and being in a small market, an analysis posted by CNBC has the Jags #24 in the NFL at $6 billion value.

But, more interestingly, the Jags are #7 in EBIDTA (Earnings before Interest, Depreciation, Taxes and Amortization) at $139 million, the most common bottom line basis for valuing a business. This is ahead of such big city teams as the Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, NY Jets, Houston Texans, Washington Commanders, Seattle Seahawks, Atlanta Falcons, Arizona Cardinals, Denver Broncos, LA Chargers and Chicago Bears.

They have Jags revenue pegged at $567 million, in line with being #24 in value.

One has to assume the stadium lease bridges the difference between #24 revenue and #7 bottom line in these metrics.  Seems Jax is doing more than its fair share for the finances of the team  8).

It's the General Manager.

1. Don't fuck around with Josh Allen; lock him down early
2. Tag Calvin Ridley
3. Use your first round pick to get Trevor some protection, rather than burning it to replace Ridley
4. Trevor has more than a half second to make a decision in the pocket

It's also the offensive coordinator, obviously.

What a bland, predictable, impotent offense.

15-2. Final prediction.

"15-2" is that a prediction for the score Monday night?
Or are you seriously predicting the Jags will win the rest of their games this season?

I'm gonna assume the sarcasm font on 15-2. But I just don't get Doug's persistence to stand by Press Taylor and even worse - Phil Rauscher. The Oline is on pace for a 3rd straight bottom 30 finish and our offense has become something that would resemble a Gus Bradley led squad since Press took more command of it at the beginning of last year.

The offense is a complete mess and it would be borderline foolish to think there will be some sort of magical turnaround for the better mid-season. It's looked the same now for 19 consecutive games

Sorry, purely a dark joke that probably didn't make sense without a sarcasm tag!

8-9 feels like a win with this offense.

Did the Jags forget that they are an NFL team?
