I don't have any problems with this. The Gateway Town Center has been adding some stores over the years, and it will continue as normal. That indoor mall has long been forgotten; closed for over a decade. The Westside has plenty of storage facilities around. That part of the Northside could use a storage facility. Sure it's not ideal, but it beats the inevitable, a perpetually vacant indoor mall.

So, to the young people fighting in this movement for change, here is my charge: march in the streets, protest, run for school committee or city council or the state legislature. And win. - Ed Markey

I remember Gateway being pretty vibrant as a kid. My parents shopped at JCPenney, Ice Man and Brothers 2000 and we'd eat at Morrison's Cafeteria back in the day. Will be interesting to see how this turns out.

This is one of the more encouraging recent developments. I'm glad it's not just self storage.

Hoping for the best.  I too spent some of my youth there.  My parents owned the Speed Queen Laundry on the north end of the development.  There was a hobby shop inside the mall and Turtles Records and Tapes across the parking lot from the laundry.

Grocery, Drustore, shopping and some food options would instantly become one of the more walkable living options.
