Do any folks here attend ShAdCo meetings?  I'm curious whether there has been any lip service paid to these abyssmal response times and general apathy from JSO.  Is it going to take someone getting killed as a result of their non-response to burglaries in progress for any change to occur?  It's a sad state of affairs when my husband tries to talk me out of a 9pm run to Walgreens or Publix because of this.

Does anyone have a link for more info? I have several peeps that are interested in attending.

I guess Im answering my own question here -

QuoteHe's described as a white male, 5'7", thin build with a red sore on his face and an abrasion under his eye. At the time, he was wearing a dark hat, red striped shirt and green plaid shorts."

OK, JSO had their shot at being timely; someone call the fashion police and see how quickly they'll respond!

Honestly, I wish Jacksonville WOULD stand up and fight back. I'm fed the hell up with all the burglaries, crimes, killings, acts of hate, etc.. Someone breaks into my house, they're either getting a baseball bat to the skull and getting their skull cracked open, or a double barrel shotgun blast to the head. I'm not gonna let my life be at risk if someone breaks in and thinks they can take my life.

Don't sit back and think it can't happen to you, and then wonder why you weren't prepared ahead of time. Nobody, NOFREAKINGBODY, has the right to take your life in the comfort of YOUR OWN HOME.

Yeah; as an ex-military man (in his 50's now), your efforts are applauded.  If I were younger I would have chased him too; if you don't, who will?  JSO certainly won't (they're too busy eating their donuts and drinking starbucks coffee); after they finish eating and drinking their coffee, then they'll "check it out."  What in the world are they (JSO and other police and sheriff's around the nation) gonna do when everything starts to blow up in our face?  They won't have time to eat donuts and drink coffee then, but who knows?  They might be too scared to face the terrorists, rioters, and looters down and just "wait it out" behind a building or in the boonies until their shift ends.

I agree deathstar; I guess it is time we all take matters into our own hands (in the comfort of our homes) because JSO won't take these matters into their hands which is their job!

Good news.  Too bad his mama wasnt as worried about teaching the little criminal right from wrong as she was about his run in with the police.

QuoteThis was the fourth police-involved shooting in eight days

Imagine if JSO made it to every break-in call this fast... they would record record shooting's this year.
And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.
