If it is any consolation it took the Wordle "expert" at Wordle-bot 5 tries.

^ LOL, it pays not to know too much sometimes in these games.  Systematizing one's approach may lead you to more solutions, less busts, but the tradeoff is maybe taking more turns to solve.  Risk vs. reward  . 

Either approach probably gets you to roughly the same average number of turns for puzzles solved but one using wild guessing is sure to get you more busts as you have too many letters still on the board at the end if you didn't solve fast enough.
