I made it down to a Jumbo Shrimp game finally and was was able to see the now cleared Doro site.  What's the over and under on it getting built?  To my untrained eye, I didn't see any signs of it going vertical anytime soon.  Game day parking lot for the foreseeable future?

I haven't been down there in two weeks or so but it appeared that site and foundation work were underway. I doubt it will be used for parking any time soon.

I thought I saw a crane (laying down) at the Doro site when I went by the other day. 

Also, noticed today that the silt fence just put up at the Baptist site on Hendricks is Miranda Contracting's.  They're a sktework contractor, the same that did East San Marco, so I assume something is about to go down over there.

YES!  I saw a Port-a-Potty on the Baptist site too. Progress!

Not sure if the project is getting underway or if its just unglamorous utility work, but there's been fairly significant work going on in Ron's building next to Chamblin's Uptown for most of the week.

Also, Vestcor is reapplying for incentives for the Lofts at Cathedral project

Jacksonville-based housing developer The Vestcor Companies will try again to secure state and local government funding for its proposed mixed-income, multifamily renovation of the former Community Connections building Downtown.

The Downtown Investment Authority board is scheduled to vote July 29 for the second time since Aug. 19 on a $625,000 loan for Vestcor's estimated $28.78 million Lofts at Cathedral project at 325-327 E. Duval St. in the Cathedral District.

The board first approved the loan last year contingent upon Vestcor winning a 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credit award from the Florida Housing Finance Corporation.

The Jacksonville Housing Finance Authority selects local projects for the tax credit.

For the old Baptist office site, the other week someone mentioned they hadn't pulled any permits.

Maybe they have now?  It's been empty / dead.  But this morning a handful or so of trucks + equipment is on site.

Still nothing active at that address so who knows.  Last permit pulled was for the 2019 demolition.

Drove by a little while ago.  They are milling the old asphalt off of the site.  That I'm not sure if you need a permit for.

Vestcor secures a $625k loan from the DIA for the Lofts at Cathedral

A project to bring workforce housing units to the Cathedral District in Jacksonville took a step forward this week.

The Downtown Investment Authority Thursday approved a $625,000 loan from the Community Redevelopment Area budget for developer Vestcor's plan to redevelop the historic YWCA building on East Duval Street into 120 residential units.

The loan is one part of the project's funding, which will also use a low-income tax credit and other programs. The project will have to come back before the DIA again later in the process.

And finally, Main Street Food Park (a food truck park) hopes to open in a few weeks at 1352 N. Main Street, corner of 4th & Main. Needs PUD & COA approvals, but those aren't thought to be an obstacle.

Drove by the site for Courtyard on College today (corner of College St and Willowbranch). 2 units well underway. Can someone provide a link to more info about this project, specifically how much they paid for the lot? 

Looks like the units will be in the $400,000's....

Was there actually any work going on?  They framed them up a while back but they seem to have been sitting idle for at least a few months now.
