Hated our first round last night when I went to sleep, woke up feeling a little better about it today.

Between Minshew getting his shot, Brady in Tampa, and Tua in Miami, should be a fun year for Florida.

There are still plenty RBs and WRs left on the board.
With picks at #39, #50 and #70, I predict a Dolphin RB selection tonight.

Exactly. And value was not at the top.

Jags are still in excellent shape ( top 3rd )with remaining draft capital.

Got to think that if they'd traded down, Henderson still would have been available and they'd have even more draft capital. Not that mad about it as obviously we need a corner.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

I've no reason to doubt Henderson will be a good player, but I saw Jeudy as a can't miss and most of all would've liked us to take a left tackle at 9 and move Robinson inside.  Much happier with the selection of Chiasson; he and Epenesa were my hoped-for players at #20.  WR wasn't an absolute in the first for me since there are so many good ones on the board.  This is probably a good draft to get receivers in bulk in the middle rounds.  I'd be really happy with someone like Denzel Mims in the second, though.  Of course a run-stuffing tackle, a change of pace back, and a rangy free safety wouldn't make me sad either.

Wonder if Leonard gets traded today.

Also I have the sinking feeling that New England takes Epenesa

There was zero chance that Henderson would have been available from 14-19. Could they have traded down 2-3 spots with the run on OTs? Possibly.

Likely true. At a minimum, Atlanta would have taken him at 16 so we certainly couldn't have waited until our pick at 20.

^They were actually looking to trade up to grab him too.

Agree with this very much.

We had the best corner in the NFL for a couple if years and still had losing records.

If Minshew is not the QB people HOPE he is we will go 2-14 and probably get Trevor from Clemson.

However, if he IS then he will need all the help he can get. And so far we let some incredible prospects go by.

Our recent success with  first round defensive players from UF has been poor, too.

^ One way or another, the Jaguars need to come away with a couple of WRs in these middle rounds.  Cole, Westbrook, and Conley are all more "useful role player" than "legitimate starter," and none of the three are under contract after this year.

If Mims or Higgins is there when the second round pick comes around, I think that's where we have to go.

Don't think it's fair to taint Henderson because Derrick Harvey and Reggie Nelson played poorly and Dante Fowler (though far from a bad player) disappointed.  I don't think anything about the UF-ness of those players caused them not to work out, and I say that as someone who is very far from being a Gator fan.  (At the risk of sounding insane, I haven't given up on Taven Bryan.  The natural ability and measurables are there, and sometimes it takes defensive linemen, especially ones who are kind of half end and half tackle, the first three years or so of a career to figure it out and find their niche.  Even Calais.  Since I was a Broncos fan before the Jaguars came along, I'll say he reminds me of Dan Williams, who eventually became a double digit sack guy as an interior rusher after stumbling around at big end for a while.)

So far the Jags draft picks are getting better as the rounds past. First pick, okay; second solid; third very good.

I follow College football more than the Pros, so when the Jags draft a player I never heard of as a recruit OR a player in College I get pretty concerned.

I'm concerned.

Ok now DT.

We gonna score 16 points per game next year.........maybe

"Jacksonville Jaguars: A-
With two first-round picks in 2020, and a front office seemingly fixated on a rebuilding plan that has nearly every important player on the roster out the door in one way or another, the Jaguars had to nail their 2020 draft.

Picks: Rd. 1 - C.J. Henderson, CB, Florida | Rd. 1 - K'Lavon Chaisson, DE/OLB, LSU | Rd. 2 - Laviska Shenault, WR, Colorado | Rd. 3 - Davon Hamilton, DT, Ohio State | Rd. 4 - Ben Bartch, OT, Saint John's (Minn.) | Rd. 4 - Josiah Scott, CB, Michigan St. | Rd. 4 - Shaquille Quarterman, LB, Miami (Fla.) | Rd. 5 - Daniel Thomas, S, Auburn | Rd. 5 - Collin Johnson, WR, Texas | Rd. 6 - Jake Luton, QB, Oregon State | Rd. 6 - Tyler Davis, TE, Georgia Tech | Rd. 7 - Chris Claybrooks, CB, Memphis

Just gonna say, if we can't score we can't win.  I'm really jealous of the Broncos, who added Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler, and Tyrie Cleveland to their roster. Now that's giving your QB some weapons.

No London games this year...
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

More like "No games this year."
