Yep, three turnovers by our $88 million dollar man.  Pitiful.

Looks like the Dolphins have a better future at the moment. Blow it up, clean house and start over.

I hope they rearrange everything.  This season is not the time to talk stadium alterations.

That isn't how the Jags leadership looks at it though.  They are selling the idea that only Lot J, the Shipyards, and an eventual stadium renovation are the only things that will give them the money to make the Jags a winner.  They actually have no incentive to win before then.  Financial stability is the path to winning, not the other way around.  Of course, if they don't win they still keep the money.

This is the part of the State of the Franchise that I find most grating each year.

The "teams with the most local revenue have the best chance to win" slide.

Couldn't be worse timing for the Jags to Oliver Twist the city with this trainwreck of a season.

Khan of the Jags rhymes with Zahn of the JEA.  Both are cons.

This Bucs game had decent attendance at the stadium, over 62K (how many people actually show is irrelevant). Many Bucs fans showed up of course. Unfortunately the Jags are in the worst road travelling division (AFC South). Seems like it's basically all Jags fans whenever we play a divisional home game. It seems like damn near the entire NFC conference's fans travels well.

It could be worse.  Imagine how much the Jags would suck if they didn't get those pools and large videoboards.  Those alone account for 10 points a game.

Honest question - why is the attendance irrelevant?

My guess would be that if the ticket is sold then the team can pocket the revenue even if the person doesn't show up.

However, the no-show doesn't pay for parking, doesn't buy food and drink at the stadium, doesn't buy souvenirs, and doesn't frequent area businesses catering to the fans.

Any sports team receiving tax dollars should have to report turnstile attendance so we know exactly how many people are directly benefiting from stadium upgrades.  Then we will know if the expense is justified.

Can we just hire this promoter to fill the stadium?

Maybe we can even get Khan to wrestle a bear at half-time - sort of a dual promotion with the AEW.

I went with my brother but since the game wasn't competitive, we bailed at halftime and went to a nearby restaurant for food and drinks instead of overpaying for them at the stadium.

Meh....while the Jags current situation is an extreme example, if the ticket is sold it's sold. Many season tickets are companies that on occasion, the seats go unused at the last minute.

Now, I'm pretty surprised at that number as well for yesterday, but there were a lot of Bucs fans in attendance. It COULD have been legit....but surprising for sure.

Captain Zissou

Maybe at the beginning of the game there were 50,000 in the seats.  By half time that number was about 25,000.  My group of 9 went to the bud zone at half time and then left at the end of the 3rd to go drink off that garbage game.

While I'm very sorry for the misfortunes that plagued the Foles family from the beginning of their move here (the miscarriage, then Foles' injury) the fact remains that Minshew-mania took hold in a BIG way.  Jags started winning, there was an era of good feeling, to coin an old phrase. You don't change horses in mid-stream when you're winning, Marrone - but I guess you have to do what the owner says?  Maybe they brought Foles back full-force too soon from his injury.  Either way, I am sorry that these two players are starting to wonder what kind of fair-weather fans they're playing for in Jacksonville.  Especially hurtful, to me is that the media portrayed it that the Minshew honeymoon was over b/c they lost in London.  huh???  I can't imagine the true fans feeling that way.  I'm not a faithful follower of the sport, I just see how two young men are being treated by the powers that be.  Put the human aspect back in there for a minute.
