I recommend reading the article I linked to. It does put forth the suggestion that Kaep's agent has been working the phones to every team. That is smart, let the agent do his job.

It also very clearly puts forth Kaep's body of work in comparison to all the other QB's working, and Kaep's body of work is superior to more than half of the QB's working right now. Those stats will be front and center when the league owners are depositioned ......

I read it when you posted it, and many others just like it - an opinion piece written by someone not directly associated with him that thinks he should be playing in the league.

I am surprised no one has picked him up. But, I don't see him as an answer here. I think the feeling on Blake was this: If you're going to disrupt the offense by changing QBs, make it someone transformative that is CLEARLY better than Blake. I didn't feel like Cousins was nor anyone else this year (and Kaep is definitely not). They signed him to a relatively light deal. A cut in 2019 would be expensive, but before 2020 was only be a $5M dead money hit.

Now, I don't think (especially after the NE game) anyone thought the offense would be this dysfunctional. Even the Blake haters couldn't have predicted it would have been this bad.

People keep acting like we're talking about the Jaguars hiring Kaep, or Cousins, or anyone else.  Washington just hired Mark Sanchez.  Great, they're giving him a chance to play.

They brought in Sanchez as a 3rd QB, just like we brought in Landry while BB5 was on the injury report.

It sure as hell isn't so 'he can play' as much as it's probably 'I really hope he doesn't have to play'.

And if you follow that with 'why not Kaep', then you're just not being honest.  The guy has too much at stake to take a 3rd QB spot for a week or two until the starter comes back.

Edit:  To be a backup.  I forgot that Smith was done for the year.

Say what you may Bortle fans.  He is great.  Nice guy. Hasn't bitten off his tongue yet, etc.  The objective people out here beg to disagree.  The Jag's have alienated the fanbase, squandered an elite defense, made the Jaguars the laughingstock of the NFL, and completely eliminated the chances of a winning season/playoff berth with Mr. Bortles. If you won't listen to me, listen to almost any reputable football writer, past or present coach, the stats, and look at all the facts concerning Blake.  You are wrong!  Get it in your head, wrong.  When do you suppose you can see reality?  This team has sold it's soul with this Bortle's experiment and has failed.

In honor of Thanksgiving, I am thankful to see some recent posts from the Bortles apologists. I was concerned that one of you may have been the tourist killed by the remote tribe on a missionary mission to find someone left on earth you may be able to convince Blake is a good QB.

I had to.

Rofl... what a comedy of errors.   Unprepared and undisciplined... great trash talkers though...rofl...
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

That was a penalty ridden nightmare.  It ended the way I figured it would.  The Jags are a one dimensional team.  They got away with that last year, but this year the opposition knows if they play the Jag's run game well and hang on, they can win.  Most boring offense I've seen.  The defense doesn't get to rest and the passing game is Pop Warner.

I'm actually missing Marcedes Lewis these days. The new tight end was atrocious today, and we could use some veteran leadership on the offensive side of the ball.   Also could have been handy on that first and goal where we came away empty.

Would hope that some of those matches would be held in Jacksonville when this new venture comes online.

From the article:

QuoteAll Elite Wrestling, LLC is registered to an address at 1 TIAA Bank Field Drive in Jacksonville. That address just happens to be the address of the stadium for the Jacksonville Jaguars. The stadium is owned by Shad Khan.

The Jags offense was much better last year, both statistically and in reality. Marqise Lee, Allen Hurns and Corey Grant gave this team something that DJ Chark, a regressing Keelan Cole and an injured Leonard Fournette have been unable to deliver. Bortles' mechanics have also regressed from last year and his accuracy looks even worse than before.

Just an absolute disaster the team has become.

At this point, it does not appear the team is likely to win another game. And you have to wonder if Marrone is canned. With some many dumb penalties (highlighted by Fournette's fight/ejection) and mistakes, it is pretty clear he has little control over the team.

And there will be an epic house cleaning this offseason.

I'd bring back Westbrook, Cam Robinson, Ngakoue, Bryan, Campbell, Ramsey and Harrison. Anybody else is debatable.

Just like Greg Olson and Jedd Fisch.

It's almost like the OC doesn't actually matter if you don't have talent on offense.

I bet there is a long line to fill THAT position...  ::)

Can you say scapegoat?  I think Hackett's play calling was perfect for the misfit(s) he was dealt.  A failure at QB, a so-so offensive line even before injuries, best receiver on IR, etc.  He had to adapt the offense to the total failure that is Robby Blake Bortles.  Ask anyone who knows football what is wrong with the Jaguars offense.  I bet Hackett wouldn't be the 1st or 2nd pick.

Hackett isn't completely the scapegoat. They did bench Bortles.
