$16.5M dead cap.  He's already been paid.

Exactly! Only $6.5 million to pay. The dead cap can be spread over 2 seasons.

Somewhat recent update on Kaep, INCLUDING STATISTICS! You should like that NRW.

Actions speak louder than words, and he has worked out non stop.

Right, in 2019. And it's 5 million more in 2020.

You're exactly right - Actions.  Yet with all of his inaction, it's cool to just keep making the assumption that he even wants to play...

And don't get it wrong - I'm a Blake apologist because I love the guys attitude and there really is a whole bunch of failure going on around him and he's getting an unfair share of the blame, but because he makes an easy target, he takes the brunt - I get that.

But the moment that Kaep, or Taylor, or Grier or whoever is our QB and we're winning games - I'm a fan of that guy.  Because I'm a fan of the team and while I like certain players, the moment they put on another jersey, I'm over it.

BTW, how's Cousins looking this year with $84M guaranteed, a solid defense and multiple weapons on offense?  5-4-1 last I checked and far from a lock to make any kind of postseason appearance.  Do you really think we'd be better than 4-6 with him as our QB?  Because we would have lost a few on the defense to make that happen.

I'm not sure where we would be.

I think Kaep has been screwed.  And I think he will get a big payday from the owners who screwed him.  That's all I'm saying.

Shad Khan said he was all for Kaep getting a workout. But he did not insist on it. I think that was wrong too.

I believe most NFL owners would work out a convicted serial killer if they thought he would help the team win. Just not Kaep.

I would like to second the opinion that if anyone has been hosed by the NFL, it has to be Kaep.  He silently knelt during the national anthem to protest something to him that was meaningful.  Trump and the right wing have turned it into him disrespecting the flag.  What a crock!  I am the same age as the Donald.  I served in the Army in Vietnam.  I was told I was fighting for freedom.  I was fighting for the rights of citizens of the U.S.   That's a crock too.  Big mouth wussies like DT never served and are now calling citizens with different views unpatriotic.  It's time we make a stand.  Why did I fight for Kaep's freedom if he isn't able to exercise that freedom?  What a shame.

I'm not gonna debate whether or not he was screwed.  Several active players still kneel during the anthem. Several active players are outspoken about the racial injustices.  Even his 'right-hand-man' Eric Reid who knelt next to him while on the 49er, and is basically co-suing with Kaep in the collusion case.  Yet Eric Reid is on the Panther's active roster.

We're not going to see eye to eye on this, but IMO the only thing keeping Kaep out of the NFL is, and has been, Colin Kaepernick.

The 'Muh Kaepernick still can play' people are very persistent, reminiscent of the 'Tebow to the Jags' era. Why is that activist, who has no mentions of playing in the NFL (and isn't any good) still a thing? I'm so sick of some people acting like he's MLK and speaks for all black people; also acting like he's above criticism like Jesus.

Im a Blake apologist! The Jags sabotaged Blake this season, gave him no receivers to work with and a one trick pony run game. The Jags didnt evolve this year.

Lee, Cam Robinson, and Corey Grant were critical pieces to this team. It is tough to overcome those injuries when your margin for error is smaller.

To all Blake apologists.  I'm not anti Blake.  I don't think he's a bad guy.  He is just a bad QB.  Would you like to know the reason he doesn't have any receivers?  It's because they wanted out.  He can't hit a receiver downfield.  He barely makes many of his famous side armed wounded duck, 3 yard passes that aren't blocked by linemen.  Blake apologists are much like parents with delinquent children.  It's always someone else's fault.  "He's hanging out with a bad crowd, he was a good kid until the new system was installed, he's bullied, the dog ate his homework", yada, yada, yada. He is not the one.  They have done everything they can to overcome his ineptness.  Years and years of heartbreak, waiting for this guy to evolve.  Move on.

I don't know if Kaep can play or not.  He may be terrible.  What any sensible person would have to say is that how can it not be collusion when a QB that has shown an ability to be a good QB not get any calls due to his protest?  I think he shouldn't have protested before a game.  He should have done it on his own time.  To essentially ban him for life is overkill. My views on these sorts of things has evolved over time.  I would have agreed with you earlier in my life, but when you look at the big picture, what good is freedom if you can't exercise it?  We have a anthem, jets flying overhead, the huge flag on the field, and all the trappings of a free society.  Your heart fills with pride and you consider how lucky and free we all are.  Then a few people display their own symbol of freedom and they are blacklisted and banned from football.  What hypocrisy.  I agree with you on Tebow.  He wasn't very good as an NFL QB.  His unorthodox kneeling didn't get him banned though.  He was allowed to show he wasn't an NFL caliber player.  Kaep should have the same chance.
