An individual was shot at least 2 times at the intersection of Hogan and Water Streets at 11:20 PM this evening as he left the Landing.  According to a witness, the shooter shot first, and then robbed him of a Blackberry and $15.

was alchohol involved?

"the shooter shot first"????

so - the victim shot back?

That sucks. Senseless violence is so scary cause, i mean, theres not much you can do to prevent it.

Driven1, I understood it as the shooter first shot and then he robbed. As opposed to a typical hold up/mugging gone awry.

I was wondering what the helicopter was looking for last night..
Yankees suck!! Yankees suck!! Yankees suck!!

remember if you have any information about this crime call crimestoppers.  JSO needs all the help it can get, they are short-staffed, underfunded and greatly overwhelmed by the out of control crime in Jacksonville.

I dont know if its related, but last night around 11:40 the police were all around my house in Springfield, helicopter, cops with dogs running down the alley next to my house, lots of police activity on 4th st right behind me. It was action packed.

You must live right near me... I was watching the Sox game and heard the helo all around me. I was torn between looking out the window or watching the Sox comeback.. I guess from my posts you can tell what I watched...

Boy this really sucks. If it were me being robbed, it would force the cataclysmic decision of throwing my bottle of Rebel Yell at the bum (so limited alcohol would be involved), but he ain't getting the Southern Comfort!

I can't find anything about this shooting on Jacksonville.com or news4jax.com.  Perhaps this is a bogus?

Yes, like the time 2 weeks ago when 2 cops came to my door and bitched me out for me and 9 friends talking too loud at 9:30pm in my fenced in patio. Its a good thing they came to put me in my place, they said they could hear us talking from the street!!!  Who knows what might have happened, had they not come!

BridgeTroll

You mean they got out of their car????? :o
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Of course not.  Sometimes the Sox take the lead early on.

I'm always ranting about "the man" here but damn if this doesn't remind me of a scene from the movie "Letters From Iwo Jima. When The Kempeitai spread a little neighborhood spirit by helping a war widow put up her flag, then decided to shoot her dog to make a point. Are we there yet? More and more I understand my friends in foriegn countries, who always want to know how it is to live in America - because it's so dangerous.
