Maybe he should not bother wasting his money buying Wembley stadium and use it instead to finance a stadium in Jacksonville that meets his discriminating needs.

I think you forgot the sarcasm tag. Why do that when you can hold a gun to the taxpayers head for the remainder of the lease.

True.

I find it interesting (for lack of a better word) that the guy is happy to pay £600 million to purchase a stadium in London. Why not buy the Gator Bowl outright? He clearly can afford to and apparently has no problem doing so when that is the only option.

Isn't he getting Wembley at a discount? I think that's one of the arguments against selling it...some observers feel like he's getting it at way under value. If he could purchase TIAA Bank Field for half what the city put into it perhaps he would do so as well.

Yeah, the thing cost over a billion £ in current money and he's getting it (supposedly) for £600 million. If only new home buyers could get prime London property at below-market rates.

But certainly he could purchase the Gator Bowl for well less than £600 million.

Is the stadium for sale? You can't buy something unless it's for sale!

That's true. But Khan hasn't attempted to buy it. Wembley wasn't for sale until he approached the FA about purchasing it (AFAIK).

There's no incentive for him to buy it. It's a one use facility and he owns the primary tenant.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

JaxAvondale

I don't see the Jags moving to London but I do believe that the next major stadium enhancement will be a shade/roof.

Of course. But that wasn't my point, really.

Edit: Or, on reflection, it kind of was my point. St Shahid would prefer to continue to rape the taxpayers of Duval Co when it comes time for him to upgrade his stadium rather than spend a penny more than he can get away with not spending. Sure, that makes him a good businessman.

This has been embarrassing.  Is our kicker hurt? Cause if our Coach knows our team he should have tried the 56 yard field goal in the first half, when it was possible.  It has been an enormous downhill slide since that moment.

Any one know our road record since Blaine Gabbert beat us last year?

For the record, Nathan Peterman is on a NFL roster and Kaep is at home. That alone is proof of collusion......

What has me dismayed is most teams that have a first half like the Jaguars had make adjustments during halftime in an attempt to change their fortunes.  I didn't see that with the Jags.  When you are down 30 points in the 3rd qtr., why throw 5 yd. passes? Why not have some reverses, trick plays, go deep?  We have an offense that is built around the limitations of Bortles.  If the running game doesn't work, put the game in Blake's hands.....short side armed passes over the middle, hand off up the middle, stand like a statue and get sacked, or throw an interception.  So boring.  Stop blaming the receivers.  Passes over receiver's heads, passes thrown behind receiver's, passes batted down, wobbly low velocity passes up for grabs isn't going to make it in the NFL for long.  Our team needs a dynamic, mobile QB that can inspire the offense and the defense.  Even players like Julio Jones and A.J. Green would be ineffective with our QB.

Marrone needs to make a move to shake things up.

I'd suggest firing Todd Wash.

For as much supposed talent this defense has, you wouldn't know it watching these games. Teams have the defense figured out.

If you have any type of mobile quarterback, you'll be good. Mariota, Mahomes, Prescott. The team had no answer for them. And here comes Desean Watson. This could get ugly.

I don't think embarrassing does today's performance justice. But if it will make Jalen shut up for a week, that would be nice.

However, I will hold off final opinion until I see some stats from NRW which may somehow show the Jags were actually great.

We're on to Houston.

Dan Patrick was all over Jalen Ramsey today...I think the word "weak" was used often...
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Yep, and a lot of us will happily take it. I think the negative implications if the Jaguars were to leave are far worse than handing Kahn a couple million here and there for "projects."

Sure thing.

Wow. I was at that disaster last night...didn't really ever feel like a game. Two takeaways for me:

1) Jags may be in trouble. A situation like this isnt the death knell, but the season is at a crossroads and it could very easily end in shambles. So we'll see if somehow things can get turned around. But plenty of previous super bowl winners have had moments in a season where things looked extremely bleak. Indy's championship season comes to mind, when the Jags (a non-playoff team) steamrolled them late in the year and the Indy D was in crisis mode with observers both on the inside and out wondering how in the world Indy would be able to stop any offense in the playoffs.

2) Wow...it felt like a TON of Jags fans everywhere. I haven't been to that many road games but it had by far the most away fans as any Jags game I've seen in Jax or away. It's hard to put a percentage on it but if I had to guess I would say over 25%? I mean it felt like there were definitely more Cowboys fans but they didnt outnumber us by that much. Our nosebleed section looked and felt closer to 50/50. We got heckled by the same few home fans it almost felt like they were in our house embarrassing us. Walking the concourses you'd literally see 5 to 10 pockets/groups of Jags fans every direction you turned. You could walk the entire stadium and continuously high five Jaguars without ever missing a step (this lasted about until 2-min after kickoff...not sure there were any high fives to be given after that) There even was a soft but admirable drone during our team's first few defensive stand attempts as we tried to make our presence felt, and I would imagine it could have been really something had we gotten to the point where we actually had some stops. Anyway, it was really shocking to me. Not sure if that's just the nature of an enormous stadium without a perennial juggernaut team or what. Our nosebleeds cost less than half of face value and the standing room tix that some of my friends got were under 25%.

I think this is a little overreaction. The defense shut down Mariota (albeit he was nowhere near 100%), and they slowed Mahomes down more than any team this season including the Patriots last night. Really the only disappointment by the D was yesterday, and it was indeed very awful. But it doesn't mean they have no answer for any mobile quarterback. Time to see what this team is made of. Could be a good wakeup call...or a sign that we're just not very good.

Well.....the Dolphins backed into a win! ;D
