I think we will pay the price for letting A Rob and A Hurns go. Moncreif has the measurables but the GM is not taking into account the chemistry BB had with those other 2.  I've heard a lot of the Jags professional commentators saying how they have not been impressed with Moncreif and that he and BB do not appear on the same page.  I hope that improves...

Way too many questionable calls (against both teams) yesterday.  So much ambiguity tied to these personal fouls.....

The reffing yesterday took a lot of the fun out of watching the game for me. Quite a few time times the tv coverage (which was rather poor regardless) couldn't figure out what the reffs were talking about in time to show a replay. It really bugs me when reffs make calls and on the replay you could clearly see that there was no way the reff that threw the flag could have seen the penalty they supposedly saw.

A healthy Robinson, I would agree. I think the team made a mistake in letting him go.

But Hurns could not stay healthy. And when he played, he was not nearly the player he was 3 years ago. The injuries have taken a toll on him. I think Westbrook can fill that role.

Well, snaketoz, you're looking for Aaron Rodgers out there? Blake is a damn good fit for this team.

He was 12-20, 159 yards, 1 interception, sacked twice. Against a defense comparable to the Jaguars defense.

Okay?

Kirk Cousins?

He of the 3-year, $84 million deal (for the sake of comparison, Blake signed a 3-year, $54 million deal) that will cost the Vikings $30 million more than our contract with Blake?

Well, he was 3-8, for 12 whopping yards, 0 interceptions, sacked once.

Blake wins that particular comparison; the game and the contract.

Blake looked good, and he barely missed on a couple of passes that would have been big gains. On his interception: it looked bad, it may have actually *been* bad, but it also may have been a case of Fournette sitting down on a play where he should have continued the route upfield. Odds are, it was a mistake by Blake. Those are going to happen; he came right back and led the team down the field for the TD.

The Jaguars look damn good. Yeldon looks improved. Some damn good players aren't going to make this team. That hasn't happened in forever.

I wonder what the headlines would have been nationally if Blake had just gotten $80M and had Cousin's stat line....
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Agreed. I am glad the narrative has changed from back in the day when it was "things go wrong for Blake he tanks and can't recover" to now just complaining about a few bad looks. He obviously has the wherewithal and command of this offense to overcome some bad luck and/or bad days.

My main (only?) concern is offensive line. Hopefully Linder is ok and Cam can improve in a hurry.

They didn't let Robinson go, he didn't want to be here.

When did I ever say I wanted to sign Cousins or anyone else?  I think they should have looked hard at some of the draftees and get someone ready.  I don't think the Jaguars were right about Leftwich or Gabbert, and I don't think Bortles is the right one either.  You say Bortles only had 1 interception?  Thanks to the Viking defense that dropped a sure second one.  That's in one half.  I'm a homer, but I'm not praising Bortles or anyone else that doesn't deserve praising.  I'm just calling it like I see it.  If you think Bortles looks good, fine.  I just don't see it that way.

Bortles sure looked great today, against some very tough opponents.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

We whooped the Patriots with Fournette on the bench........

BridgeTroll

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

pierre

That was a complete beatdown of the Patriots. Very impressive.

Snaketoz

I agree.  Bortles looked great...this week.  I hope he keeps it up.
