I just don't believe that they won't tag him until the deadline rolls around this afternoon. Maybe I am naive, but I am thinking/hoping it's a ruse.

As for trading for a "high second round pick," nobody is gonna give us that lol. If Robinson was under contract and underpaid then it might be possible though still doubtful coming off the ACL, but if a team still has to sign him to a monster contract they aren't giving up picks.

Perhaps if we tag him like I am hoping, there could be a chance for a trade but not a high round.

We will not tag him.  Too expensive.  If we did, he would be the second or third highest WR in the league.  He is not the second or third best WR in the league.  Just doesn't make sense to do it.  He got paid 1.1 million last year.  Do you think he is worth 16.5 million this year?

That said.  I hope we keep him with a contract.

If we tagged, he would be tied with Jarvis Landry for the third-highest paid WR (Antonio Brown and Deandre Hopkins are 1 and 2).  I do not think he is worth 16.5/year. Probably imo worth 10-12M on a long term contract factoring in the risk in case he doesn't develop/recover fully. IMO it would make sense to give him more like 13/14M if the guarantee is less, like a 2-yr deal. Hence why I'd also be willing to do the tag at 16.2M. It only "hurts" us for one year and gives a chance to wait and see how he returns from injury.

Of course this is not my money and I'm just speaking as it pertains to the cap, assuming that Khan has told the FO that money is no object as long as the cap is healthy.

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Just heard on Miami radio that Robinson is headed to the Bears. 3 years, $42 million.

Rumors were Robinson was frustrated playing with Bortles.

Now, he'll be catching passes from...Trubisky?

Spending $13 million a year on an elite guard is a better move than spending $14 million a year on a good receiver.

Sammy Watkins just got $16 million (!) a year from Kansas City.

This is true! Analytics show that the easiest positions to replace production are at WR & RB.

Posluszny announced his retirement.  He gave distinguished service and effort to some really poor teams in past years.  Too bad we couldn't see him off with a Super Bowl trip.

Thanks for your service and dedication, Poz! Would love to see him in the Pride of the Jaguars.

Jags re-sign Marqise Lee but lose Colvin to a 4-year deal with the Texans.

Jags also sign Donte Moncrief, WR from the Colts.

Jags sign D.J. Hayden, corner formerly of the Lions and Raiders, presumably for Colvin's slot role.

Moncrief looks to be just a one year deal. Could be a good move, if he lives up to his potential.

Not sure about Hayden. He was a bust in Oakland, and appears to be mediocre.

Wacca Pilatka

Hayden has mostly played outside...maybe his skills are better suited to slot.

Jags sign former Jag Don Carey, several years a Lion, as a backup safety/special teamer.
