No dispute - this is where Bortles needs to be disciplined. You ran that 3rd and 25 from the Chargers 37. a 10 yard gain makes it 4th down but a very reasonable kick (Long Snapper concern aside). Also, I noticed this from the play by play:

3rd and 25 at LAC 37
(1:33 - 4th) (Shotgun) B.Bortles pass deep middle intended for M.Lee INTERCEPTED by T.Boston [J.Bosa] at LAC 10. T.Boston ran ob at LAC 10 for no gain.

Are they saying it was tipped at the line by Bosa? I didn't see it on TV, but while I'm not bailing Blake out (too many tips), it takes it from a Horrible play in my book to just sub-par.

I haven't see a good replay on this one, but it was pressure by Bosa.  It also looked like Lee ran a crossing route and Bortles threw to a post where the only 2 players around were DBs.  So I think that was a combination of a shitty throw and a miscommunication between the WR and the QB.
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

The Jags will have to make some moves this week. Hopefully, they can activate Westbrook this week. He could give this offense a serious boost. He accounted for 17 TDs at OU last year.

I would love the Jags to win out...I know we all would, but sheesh, if we could win games we SHOULD win - all the time (a la Patriots, for example), boy that would be sweet.

Two things I´ve been thinking:

1. Jesus christ, we´re one QB away from having a Super Bowl caliber team. I mean seriously...can you imagine what we´d look like with a QB who is even simply´well above average´ (since I¨d call Blake ´average at best´)?! Put in an almost-elite or downright elite QB (maybe a Matt Ryan type, who shows signs of elite more often than not) and we´d be killing it.

2. While I 100% agree with those saying ´these taunting penalties are insanely dumb, stop doing them you idiots´, I disagree with this ´act like you´ve been there´ mentality. Can we all be a tiny bit honest for a second? 90% of these guys HAVEN´T been there!! Sure, they´re considered ´professionals´, but these guys are 22-25 years old and getting their first taste of what it means to kick ass and take names. Add in a huge ego (like half our D) and...yeah...we haven´t BEEN there, so why expect them to ´act like they´ve been there´... (but yeah, please stop this nonsense and at least act like you know what it means to consistently win!)

Also, clearly I wasn´t paying attention this off-season (living in the EU really killed my interest in the NFL over the summer, but with the Jags winning, consider me on the bandwagon)....

BUT, who is Dede Westbrook? Yeah, I could Google it, but I´d love a Jags fan to explain to me why this guys name is being thrown out there left right and center.

If they could land Kirk Cousins, they will be a serious Super Bowl contender.

They are already in position to make the playoffs with a guy in likely the bottom third of starting QB's.

Overall, there were three games I was concerned about going into Sunday - the Chargers, the Seahawks (thankfully here), and the Titans. The Browns are horrible, the only thing that makes the 49ers at all hard is the travel, the Cardinals are starting lord knows who at QB, and the Colts and Texans are the Colts and Texans.

Agree with this 100%. I even had yesterday's game ranked second toughest behind Titans. Seahawks are a different team on the road, their defense is decimated with injuries, and that O-line is a dumpster fire.

I fully expect the Jags to drop a game they "should win" (especially this NFL season) and the Niners is the one I am circling.

This is much more fun than thinking about draft position.

To be honest, I'm also a little concerned about the Browns. In my opinion, they're too good to go 0-16, so that win has to come somewhere. I'm glad SF won, as the monkey is now off their back....but it's a long trip over there.

Browns put 24 on Detroit this weekend... add some cold weather... snow?
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Fallen Buckeye

As a lifelong Browns fan, all I know is that they always find a way to break my heart. So I figure that means that means they'll probably cost my other favorite team first place, lose the rest of their games, and draft another Johnny Manziel or Courtney Brown.

I didn't realize that he actually led the NFL in receiving  yards in the pre-season - and, won the Biletnikoff Award (best college receiver) last year.  Now I'm getting fired up....

I-10east

The Steelers beat the filthy Nashvegas Titans at Heinz Field (Thurs night football), and the Jags beat the winless Browns on the road (which I'm not taking for granted) and JAX takes the lead in the AFC South, sounds like a plan!! #HereWeGoSteelersHereWeGo #Sacksonville

I looked at that win as a gift.Too many bad football plays to mention (by both teams) but  I thought it was very appropriate that the Jags were essentially able to tie it because a Gus coached player does not understand situational football and celebrated a pick and inexplicably made no attempt to return it. Considering it would have been 4th and 25, I am not sure we would have gotten a better punt (I guess they would have tried a 55 fg) result than that. I am sure Gus gave him a hug, though. Just  keep getting better.  Ba Ha Ha Ha.

Good catch. Compare that to the play where Hurns got hurt on the catch and had the presence of mind to crawl to the sidelines to save a timeout.

It would be embarassing if the Jags - who crushed the Bengals, Ravens, and the Steelers - some how lost to the Browns (if this isn´t the epitome of a trap game, I don´t know what is).

That said, the last two teams that lost to the Browns, but beat the other 3 in the AFC North...went to the Super Bowl...and won it. (Pats and Giants.)

Food for thought!

Yep... just checked the Cleveland weather forecast... Possible snow showers... high of 37... windy...
