^Most other cities, I think you could get away with Kaep.

The city and the Jags just have such strong military ties though that I think it would be genuinely bad for business.

Quite the world we live in where we boo someone who peacefully stands up for a cause and cheer for guys who beat up their girlfriends or punch an old man and throw his groceries into a lake.

Someone please explain to me the relevance of the military to Kaepernick's protest. This is not a military issue. Its a free speech issue. Which is exactly the right that military members serve to protect. As a veteran myself, I have no issue with Kaepernick taking a knew in silent protest. I only wish he didn't have a reason to do so.

Now let's play some football. And if Kaepernick is our best options at QB then call him.

So a theater is having a "clown only" screening for the movie 'IT' which I think is a brilliant idea.

I plan on going as Dave Caldwell.

Stick to Hindenburg jokes...  ;)

Bortles turn overs always lead to victory for the other team, always. I was pulling for him but he's an int machine. If a game is close he'll put it out of reach. There is no QB on the Jags roster that will lead this team to more than 4 wins. Plus if that's what the defense will look like, plan on 40 to 15 defeats each week.

You're right about the turnovers, but it was a good read, good location and a shitty throw...  The INT itself was kind of fluky, but it's all on him.

As far as a QB competition, I'd still lean towards Blake with a majority of that lean falling on our lack of an offensive line.  He's just more mobile.  And he was typical BB5 - he made some really good plays, but cost us with an INT.

But let's not forget the Panthers ran the ball right down the field on their opening drive and we responded with a 3/Out.

Overall I didn't see anything tonight that was any different that expected.

Maybe we just need to play the old Gator style of football and let Henne (Leak) take the team down to the 20 and then turn it over to Bortles (Tebow) to finish off the drives.  Unfortunately, I haven't seen his jump pass yet.

Even on the passes where Bortles connects, the ball is thrown terribly. There is no zip on the ball and it still has that wounded duck look. It was the same on that interception. Unfortunately this team has to choose between two back up QB's, and unless you have the 2001 Raven's defense, you cannot be all that successful with either as your choice.

Beyond QB play, the o-line allowed rushers through untouched several times. There is a real question mark at guard, and as good as Fourenett may be, that line is not going to allow any runner to be successful.

That first half looked like any Jaguar game from the lat several years. If you don't have that trick play (who runs those in the preseason), the first half would have been abysmal.

LOL, I can understand the fake punt. Your offense needs a lot of work and going 3 and out on every drive isn't helping.  I'd say the worst part of this is most defenses are vanilla during the preseason.  If your QBs are looking this bad now, what's going to happen when the opposing team actually tries?

Unless Leonard Fournette turns out to be Jim Brown, this has the look of a team unable to even get out of their own way and will be picking in the top five again.

The team has spent so much money on this defense. And against the first team offenses for Tampa and Carolina, the defense had zero answer. Carolina did not even throw a pass and got into the red zone. And then Kelvin Benjamin was wide open for a TD to close that drive. Just like last week against Tampa.

If the defense can't stop anyone, they will be lucky to win two or three games. The schedule features the likely worst teams in the league (SF, NYJ and CLE), so they could win a few of those. But against teams like Pittsburgh, Seattle and Tennessee there are going to be some ugly results.

Blake Bortles was named starting QB for the season opener against Houston.  Many thought Bortles was done, but in true Jaguars' fashion, the team does just the opposite.  My question is why do we only have Henne and Bortles to choose from?  It's almost like answering the question, which do you prefer, a sore throat or an earache.
