I thought it was a typo but no, BB throws 5 interceptions in first scrimmage.

I though this was a typo too, when I saw the headline on Espn.com. Good grief!

It's a shame the Jaguars did not bring in anybody this offseason (rookie or veteran) that could offer actual competition to Blake.

At this point, I am sure TC and his guys are doing research on the veterans likely to be available next offseason. Kirk Cousins, Jimmy Garoppolo, Alex Smith, etc.

It's becoming very clear that Bortles is not the guy. And this does not have to do with 5 INT's in one practice. It's just a continued trend of poor decision making and poor mechanics.

Drama?  Maybe he's just misunderstood.

Copied from a post in Facebook:

Putting all political issues aside, why aren't teams jumping at a chance to sign Kaepernick?

2014-2016
11-24-0 as a starter
59.6% Completion percentage (629/1053)
41-19 TD-Int (not that bad really)
192.26 yds/gm (that is that bad)
85.2 QBR (56.6 TQBR)
116 Sacks (3.14/g)

Not that good, huh. Why is it that the only thing everyone seems to remember is that he got the Niners to the Superbowl in 2012?

You know what he had in 2012 - A concussed Alex Smith giving him a 6-2-1 headstart.

2013 was all his and with Vernon Davis playing out of his mind (13 TD catches) and Gore running all over everyone (9 TDs) they made it to the Conference Champ when he dropped a duece - 14-24-153, 1TD/2INT, 56.4QBR

He never recovered.

Do you still want him? You know.... politics aside.

Or do you just want what you think you remember about him?

I didn't look at all the stats but what was the 49ers Defense like the past 2 years. His Td/INT ratio is solid. Sacks are usually a combo of poor line play and not getting rid of the ball. Sack's suck but are better (almost always) than a pic. How many pic 6's did he have?

At this point he would be a back up to Blake. If he signs with another team and BB sucks we'll have 2 choices from the guys currently on the team. I assume this preseason we will get a LONG look at Brandon Allen. I'll leave it at that.

His successful years came during the "Run Option" fad that is now over as defenses have adjusted.  two other factors here... how much does he want to be paid?  Will he accept his role as a back up...
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

His successful years
All 2 of them (Technically 1.5 since Smith left injured with a 6-2-1 record)

And his HOF WR (Moss), 2 ProBowl WR (Boldin & Crabtree), ProBowl TE (Davis) & Possible HOF RB (Gore) left for greener pastures.

Borrowing from Taca - what's his baggage / wins ratio?

Your forgetting BB's Pro Bowl (LOL) year was when we were getting our butts kicked badly in every game and the vast majority of his stats were put up during meaningless times during the games.

I just want to win. Who gives us the best chance to win?

Maybe not Bortles, definitely not Kaepernick.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Anything is better than Henne. He served a purpose once upon a time... that time has passed. CK at the right price is a huge upgrade...  8)

The past week or so has been a disaster for the Jaguars.

Their 2015 first round pick was arrested.

Their 2014 first round pick QB throws five INT's in the team's first padded practice.

Their starting LT retires.

And now Calaias Campbell is hurt.

This doesn't bother me at all.

You want the Pollyanna take?  How many times have we given these vets tons of cash upfront to come play only to watch them relax and cash a check?  This time, we held firm, he didn't think the year was worth $8.5M so he walked.  We haven't paid a dime for this guy and now we're not on the hook for any of it AND we got out from under the JT money.
