This place seemingly popped up on Pearl Street overnight, looks great, now open.

Good to see more signs of the momentum in Springfield.

Auntie Peaches just expanded into the neighboring storefront, as well.

A couple other retail storefronts have popped up in the last month as well, both on Main Street.

Sofia's Closet (consignment & alterations) and Ms. Widow's Wordly Goods (repurposed decor).

All of these new businesses are all well and good for Springfield but what's the deal with MainSpace?

Bill Hoff

Just sold. Construction office will go on second floor, event space on 1st floor.

Any reviews of The CookBook on Pearl Street at 8th?

I went on a Sunday about a month or two ago. The food was good but they seemed low on staff and many of the menu items weren't available. IMO, it's worth visiting and checking out. Just go with an open mind and during a period of time where you can accommodate a slower service.

What a shame. Of all the projects planned over the last five years, this was one of the most highly anticipated ones, along with Crispy's, and had a very enthusiastic owner with such ambitious plans. Wonder what happened?

What a shame? This is good.

An existing successful biz choosing to relocate to Main Street, along with a new event space to activate that corner. Cool with me.

The previous owner ran into cost overages, bad luck and family changes that shifted priorities. Such is life.

What saddens me is all that work on that iconic location particularly the exterior by someone with great plans who also happens to be well vested in the community with a proven track record of success and not being able to see this come to fruition. I just hope her investments in the building helped get it sold and that there is life at this location once again.

Restoring the garden sounds like a good idea.
