I'm loving the Jags free agency signings so far. We gotta find a way to shore up that O line though.

It's starting to look more and more like we'll take a running back with the fourth pick, and then use rounds two on to shore up the line.

And I'm with you.

Those bastards have once again found a way to make me optimistic in March after a horrible season.

^^^I hear ya. I feel the same way. Hopefully Coughlin's addition will bring back that winning nostalgia.

It's a make-or-break year for Blake and I think he's going to be very good.

So no competition to push your QB? All those signings will go to waste if he's still the pick six king of the NFL.

^^^I totally agree. I'm very concerned about putting all of the eggs into the Blake basket yet again. That being said, I don't want baggage-laden (too costly, and injuries) Romo here; it looks like there are one of two other teams that will pick him up.

Westside Guy

Sure, the Jaguars have a problem at quarterback.  But what were they going to do? Pay Mike Glennon starter money like the Bears did? Give up two first rounders for Kirk Cousins? Or sign Tony Romo so he could be maimed behind our offensive line? I always felt that any quarterback competition would come through the draft.  I personally wanted Patrick Mahommes II in the second or third round, but the pre-draft buzz has picked up around him significantly, so I don't think that is an option any longer.  We're probably stuck with Bortles for another year, so lets just hope that he performs.  I don't think he will.

Keith-N-Jax

Probably have to draft a QB, I don't see any Qb help this yr., and Romo is probably one hit away from a body cast. Hoping for a improved BB5 for 2017

Colin Kaepernick is available... could probably get him cheap.  Nice back up, change of pace, possibly someone who could push Bortles...
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

No way the Duval mouth-breathers would accept Kaepernick after his galling conduct of standing up for what he believes in while being personally wealthy.

Putting Kaepernick's non-football related things aside, do you really think he's the guy to lead the Jags to the promised land? I certainly don't. While Bortles isn't great, having an issue at quarterback doesn't automatically make those who are available great. Sometimes you just need to deal with what you have until something better comes along.

Who said anything about the promised land??  I said capable back up, change of pace... perhaps he could push Bortles... Right now we have Henne.  He aint pushing anyone... not even sure he is a capable backup...

Maybe, but Kaepernick's drama-to-talent ratio is pretty unfavorable.

As the post after yours suggests, any discussion of him, let alone criticism, would be seen as a call to act superior and indignant by his fellow liberal rich kids ;)

Is it worth kicking the tires with a guy like RG III?

Lol... yeah... some people cant let stuff go.  I bet Kap has learned his lesson... and would settle for the equivalent of NFL minimum wage with the promise to keep his yap shut and stand respectfully.  He is in good health as far as I know... strong arm, (if inaccurate but so is Bortles) still has legs and is a veteran.  Someone will pick him up cheap and add depth to their QB stable...

I'd kick the tires but I bet his knees are shot...

Honestly, I think both Kaepernick and RGIII would be worth a look for backup only. But, if Bortles still struggles this year, it's going to be a battle between guys who aren't going to get us there. We've been down that road many times before.
