Social Grounds Coffee Coming to Springfield

Social Grounds announced today that they are coming to 1712 Main Street and plans to be open by April! I'm excited to have another quality coffee shop near my house, but more importantly, this bodes well for Main Street's commercial redevelopment.

I used to live in this building and sure wish there had been a coffee shop below me back then. The pictures of the proposed space look awesome!

On a side note, whatever happened to the planned  redevelopment of 9th and Main?

The PUD for 9th and Main goes before the Planning Commission at the end of this month.

Apparently their environmental testing yielded some positive, or at least not too bad, results.

Social Grounds is a legit, high quality coffee shop.

Great design & service, too. Opens early for those of us who like to grab something on the way yo work.

Did they open on the 20th? I walked by yesterday around 6pm and they were closed.

Hours on their Facebook say 630a-530p. Of course they were open pretty late on Friday, during Hyperion's Grand Opening.
