Only one reason to go to European Street and it's their happy hour.

"Happy hour is from 2-7p.m., 7 days a week. Drafts are 2 for 1. $1.00 off wine, and now ALL bottle beers are $1.50 off the regular price.  When the Jags play at home, Happy Hour starts at 10 AM.Inspired by our latest accolade, we have EXTENDED Happy Hour until thirty minutes before closing.  At each location, one beer will be Happy Hour priced, which means buy one, get one FREE almost all night long.  This news is worth telling your friends, family and neighbors.  Our 22 oz draft beers are served in the biggest pilsner glasses in town.  When you get one FREE, there is no doubt just how much we LOVE our patrons."

Good? Are you happy houring before you actually order food.

The worst desserts. Think shitty banquet sweets, in a not so stellar hotel. Think canned flavors, soaked in corn syrup, and covered in Crisco. Add a bit of non-dairy whipped cream on the top for aesthetics.

Their sandwiches are on par with Arby's in meat quality. Or, maybe it's worst. Pretty sure it's at the same level as that Land o frost stuff you get at the store, which is fine when you want a cheap homemade sandwich. It's not okay when you're charging more than 10 bucks for it.

From a yelp review, which I think sums up their food quality:

I ordered pretzels with a cheese dip. I didn't think you could screw that up. Well apparently you can. The cheese dip was ice cold. I asked the waitress to heat it up and she said. The cheese doesn't melt. ?!?!? WTF?!?! What kind of mutant cheese do you have that is so impervious to heat it is incapable of melting???

Orsay! Define cheap as hell, $.35 per drink?

Taverna has some good deals in the bar area.  I've never experienced it, but i've heard Chart House has a fantastic happy area.  My personal favorite is Happy Hour at Epping.  $6 bar bites and half off drinks.

Chart house does have a great happy hour - very good app selection for between 3 and 7 bucks.  Also good prices on specialty cocktails.  Just don't expect any local or craft beer selections (maybe a sierra Nevada if your lucky)

Blue Fish in Avondale has a great happy hour food menu (7 or 8 bucks for a dozen raw oysters) and pretty good prices on drinks too.  They also have a Saturday happy hour which is hard to find.

For just drinking purposes sidecar in San Marco has a big discount on a select number of their specialty cocktails.  I think they also have a late night happy hour as well

I love European Street's happy hour, but I'm with TheCat re: the food. I've got a microwave and store-bought lunch meats at home, thanks.

Some other place in town does 2 for 1 happy hour, and I'm pretty sure I go somewhat frequently, but I'm having a hard time recalling where. I wonder if that is causal or a simple correlation.

edit: I think it's Sake House.

WWCD!!!

The BEST HH must be the place you're really not sure if you were there or not.  I like to call this the "Sherwood's Effect"...  ;)
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

"Slurwords" as it used to be called.

I vote San Marco Estreet with a 2 for 1 entree coupon from their app!  Cheap date.

I also heartily agree with MMR about Orsay.

I like the bar at il desco at park & king. They run about $7-$8 a drink and happy hour is 2-4-1, and if you get hungry the food is fantastic. I'll admit to liking e street too, despite the basic truth of everyone's comments, sometimes it just hits the spot.
