^ yes, his team's performance on Saturday was sooo much better
It's okay to take the pistol out of your mouth now. Batten down the hatches. Hurricane Richt is coming for what's left of your teepee and your coeds will be introduced to the 7th floor crew by nightfall...

Lake , let me know when Coach Richt has his first NC.

In due time. That will eventually come following a good ole fashioned beatdown of the once proud program with the jv marching band in Tallahassee!

I sense bitterness...

W's probably still working on acceptance.  Bitterness will come later.  ;)

oh no....I am fully accepting....in fact, not really surprised.  Just saying that folks looking to Jimbo to fix the Jags woes might want to look at the film from Saturday.

has FAMU been relevant in the MEAC in the last decade?

Don't worry about FAMU. You have a Cat 5, getting its swagger back, headed your way.  The only thing between FSU and its pending annihilation is a college program running a high school offense.

Sports punditry TV has been ripping on the Jags defense all week. I cant tell you how many replays of blown coverage from the Chargers game I have seen ( over, and over) this week.

Come on guys, gotta do better!

There is no "better" when the scheme puts Poz on a WR.  He can have all the "guts" and "grit" he wants, but he'll never be able to hang with that.

There is no "better" when the scheme has our interior DL men with 7 feet between them.  That's going to get gashed every time.

It is as clear now as it has been the past 2 years.  Gus Bradley has absolutely no idea what he is doing, and he has no idea how to fix it.
So I said to him: Arthur, Artie come on, why does the salesman have to die? Change the title; The life of a salesman. That's what people want to see.

Wacca Pilatka

There was an incident in the early 90s when Dave Wyman, a stumpy middle linebacker for the Broncos, was beaten badly in coverage against the Raiders' James Jett, one of the fastest receivers in the league.  Asked to comment after the game, he said "I'm supposed to cover guys named Tank, not Jett."

It's not Posluszny's fault he's put in an absurd position.  Insane is too polite a word for a system that asks that of him.
The tourist would realize at once that he had struck the Land of Flowers - the City Beautiful!

Man, I love all the delusional Jags fans who have convinced themselves that this team is any good.  Despite only flashes of above-mediocrity, everyone seems to think Bortles is some next-level talent; the fans even convinced themselves that TJ Yeldon and Chris Ivory are good.  The Jags have supreme talent in Julius Thomas and haven't used him effectively at all.  I truly find it hilarious.

And, I will lap up the schadenfreude for as long as the NFL continues to be a corporate welfare state, sucking up our tax dollars so a billionaire can richer, and everyone just tolerates it because football.

You sound like a real fun, happy, and cheerful person. I would not be surprised if you and Gus Bradley were related.

When watching our defense I always feel like they are reacting to the offense, not "taking it to them", trying to disrupt the flow or penetrate into the back field.   Or "Attacking".

How many times was Philip Rivers left comfortably in the pocket to peruse the receivers, find the open man, and hit him in stride?  If you're gonna get beat like that at least take the risk and blitz him so you knock him on his ass a couple times in each half. Next thing you know the throws are not as accurate and maybe they are hurried.

Defense played well enough to win yesterday.

The offense was poor. They do not appear well coached for "Situational football."  We needed two first downs at the end of the game to win, and could not come close. That needs to be worked on. Blake Bortles was mediocre at best today. He's had plenty of opportunities to lead us to victory (over his short career), but has not produced very much.

The defense played good in stretches, like in the fourth quarter. But at one point, Flacco had something like 20 straight completions. That can't happen in the NFL. And they could not stop them on fourth down with the game on the line.

Bortles has been awful this year, and I actually don't even think it is his fault. Watch his body language. He is a broken quarterback with zero confidence. I think this is the result of poor coaching, never having a running game, never having a good offensive line and having a defense that rarely stops anyone.

Bradley needs to be fired ASAP and maybe the teams loser culture will somewhat go away. Marrone is a capable interim coach and could be the permanent choice if the team performs well. He actually did a pretty good job during his time in Buffalo.

Otherwise the team is going to have to make some wholesale changes this offseason. Definitely a new coach, maybe a new GM.

The Jaguars are a joke right now. They've been a joke on the field for almost a decade.

Oh, I am plenty happy knowing the NFL is a scam and that, every July and August, the delusional Jags fans con themselves into thinking they are a contender.  In fact, I laugh at loud listening to 1010XL and hearing everyone fawn over Bortles in the preseason, only to realize, shocker, he is actually pedestrian and mediocre.  I know it's hard to believe, but it's possible to not care about the Jags and live a happy life.

I mostly listen for the delusional college football fans who've somehow convinced themselves their favorite game isn't a scam ;)

I am beginning to think I did the right thing by not renewing my season tickets this year.
