Jaguars will induct Jimmy Smith into the Pride during the Vikings game this season.

Good move. Nice to see Smith turn his life around.

First preseason game in the books. The first team offense looked great. Bortles, Yeldon, Ivory, Robinson and Hurns all look to be in mid-season form. Had Thomas been able to catch the ball on the goal line, the passing offense would have been perfect essentially.

On defense, you could see the speed from new guys like Malik Jackson, Fowler, Jack and Ngakwoue.

Special Teams looks shaky, large run backs......first game, they get a pass and its still only fake football.

Been reading this thread for a while.  I like the snarky and passionate fan takes on the Jags.  Right up my alley.

For anyone interested, I have been handed the task of covering the Jaguars for MJ and TVJax.com. No, not with tarps, but words.  This includes blurbing in a Live Blog in our forum's here, including a wrap up of last night's preseason game: http://www.metrojacksonville.com/forum/index.php/topic,27388.30.html

Let me know what you want to know about the Jags, and I will see what answers I can drum up. . . and post them here.

Glad to be a part of this thread.  Go Jags!

And, if you still have a twitter account, you could follow me @yougotskeels. I am not on Tinder.

The offensive starters look awesome. As the TU stated, Bortles, Hurns, Robinson, Yeldon and Ivory could take the rest of the month off and show up in September. The D looks strong for the most part....

But the stupid penalties are rediculous. 101 yards in penalties in the 1st half and 121 total, 4 turnovers, the scrubs look shaky. Henne looked horrible, throwing 2 picks. It was obvious he got outplayed by Glennon.

Please nothing even happen to Bortles, but if something does, the backup QBs that Jax has, do not inspire confidence. Our punter looked awesome, 2 punts, ave 61 yards. That's D there.

I would agree with all of this.  All the penalties, particularly the two on Tampa's first possession really frustrated me.  On another note, Jalen Ramsey looks like a beast, but Myles Jack still looked a little lost last night, not as bad as in the Jets game, but he still has a way to go.  I also didn't see Fowler or Ngakoue do much last night, and I don't think the defense got a sack all night, that needs to change.

There is a huge drop off from Bortles to Henne, and I don't see that as a bad thing. It has more to do with how well Bortles is playing. And teams with really good quarterbacks, they struggle when that QB goes down.

Really looking forward to the game tonight. Houston looked good and Minnesota's brand new stadium looks incredible.  Very impressive.  8)
