QuoteI wonder if the city still has these plans stashed away somewhere?

You can ask Joel down at the Historic part of the City Planning, but to get a better and quicker answer, I'd ask Dr. Wayne Wood, the historian of Riverside Avondale. He could probably tell you more about it without a map.
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

"This is a game-changer. This is what I mean when I say taking Jacksonville to the next level."

I'm curious about something -- is reclamation an impossibility of the St. Johns river bed immediately adjacent to the shore running from the area north of the Ortega Bridge running all the way to The Landing or The Shipyards property? Or, more likely, the southern terminus of Edgewood Avenue? If so, either spot would be a perfect place to begin the southern end of a linear park.

Build out the reclamation far enough for a roadway and a linear park and that would make for a magnificent addition to our urban landscape.

Does anyone know if there is something that would block this beyond politics and a will to make it happen?

LOL...yes!
I could be wrong about that...it's been known to happen.
