^Amen. This is more professional than anything JTA EVER put out under Blaylock.

Glad to see the service is doing well. While I'd love to see some type of rail mixed in especially for the urban core (and it still might be in the plan), Nathanial Ford seems to at least have a vision that they are executing towards. I don't think you can argue with that.

Is the JTA making the First Coast Flyer look good at the expense of the rest of the system?

The old system had its problems, but it had its strengths as well.

The Flyer received some new buses (that were needed), but is the JTA capable of maintaining this level of service?

I don't use the JTA buses (just the Skyway), but everyone I know that uses the buses say the service is better and most important, the run times are getting more predictable.

Better may be a start. But, 40-50 minute headways is still completely unacceptable as far as I'm concerned.

^The Flyer lines JTA is in the process of setting up will have 10-15 minute headways.  As they are phased in, that should enhance the reliability and effectiveness of the overall bus system.

There is a lot of extra land behind the parking lot which will be included in the sale as I understand it.  The park and ride lot will still exist but on a scaled down basis.

This started with JTA's route optimization initiative:
Routes with 15 min frequency - before ROI - zero. After ROI - 10
Routes with 30 min frequency - before ROI - 2. After ROI - 20
Routes running after 11 pm - before ROI - 11. After ROI - 22
Routes running after midnight - before ROI - 3. After ROI - 16.
This was a year before JTA launched the First Coast Flyer.

Well that's good. I was under the impression that they were getting rid of the park and ride loot asll together.

JTA is adding a new Park-n-Ride at Lem Turner and I-295 to mostly service those coming from Nassau County and will ride the First Coast Flyer into town. Groundbreaking in later this week.
